Halo and Doom (20+ year old IPs) are system sellers?

Halo: Infinite will be huge, especially given that its multiplayer will be free.
Doom Eternal sold 3 million copies within its first month alone.

Fallout as well?
Fallout, Doom, Quake, Elder Scrolls, Starfield, The Evil Within, Dishonored, Rage, and Prey.

Bookmarked. Let’s revisit in 6-8 years when this generation runs its course.

No thanks, I'll be busy trolling the PS6 figs then.

Doom meh??? I'll give you the past couple Halo campaigns were not great (multiplayer on 5 was pretty fun) but the new Doom games were both pretty great imo.

Microsoft doesn't view the industry in terms of "generations" or hardware sales anymore.
This acquisition goes well beyond that. It's all about Game Pass.
Sony is fighting an antiquated war.

Yep. This is like Blockbuster fans laughing at Netflix for acquiring rights to stream paramount library..These dudes don't get that the game changed.

As soon as the Sony fans here finish fellating their dual shock controllers, they will tell you how PS can do no wrong.

It changed when Game Pass was first announced. Now it's becoming impossible to ignore.

I have no hate for Sony. I've owned both hardware versions over the multiple generations.
But the way that Xbox/Msft is throwing dinosaur shite piles of cash at their streaming service and bolstered their cloud streaming tech is what they wanted to do fricking last gen when they announced the Xbox One OG ..but they gaming community was not ready for it..And they did it in a super shitty way that hurt them more and Sony fired back at their dumb asses and sorta one the war in one shot. But no one is batting an eye about throwing 300 down for a console with no disk drive and will be always on...
Xbox has been planning this for way longer and it seems Sony has sorta been sitting back and enjoying being the king and winning the exclusive war and totheir credit they kicked MSFT's arse doing that..
Then MSFT just said..welp, let's change the rules of the game .
I really don't think Phil Spencer gets the credit he deserves. He is doing a great job trying to put the gaming division in the best position as possible

I'm seeing around the internet that a "Doom isn't that good" narrative is now going to be the rally cry for some console peasants.

I’d love for you to expound on how Sony is fricked. All I’m seeing is grandstanding here.
Good thing it’s not about console sales. Sony owns 4 of the 5 most sold consoles on the planet. Maybe MS finally realized good games matter, not muh teraflops. Good for them. Like I’ve said repeatedly, Sony needs good competition to force them to innovate as well.
But Sony certainly isn’t fricked. That’s just a moronic thing to say

I didn't say Sony was fricked. I said they're fighting an antiquated war, ie, trying to move hardware with their first party titles. The PS5 will sell more than the Series X|S, because Microsoft's first priority isn't moving hardware. If it was, they wouldn't be putting all of their first party games on PC on day one.
Microsoft isn't trying to sell more consoles than Sony, nor are they trying to win the next "6-8" years. They're trying to win the next 20+.
