Skyrim is an extremely forgiving RPG

this. kinda just play what you want. anything usually works.

there certainly is optimal builds and such, but you dont need to get into all that for skyrim.

Appreciate this particular tidbit. I’m not a fan of bows and archery in other games so I’ll try to keep my eye out and avoid this path if at all possible

is this really a thing? i dont thing ive used a bow an any of the elder scroll games. not the first time ive seen it lol. i just beat things with a sword until dead.

I wanted to be a two hand yielding scrapper, but I took an arrow to the knee.

Once you get a companion, you can command them to pick shite up and they’ll have unlimited storage space.

If you try to trade with your companion they’ll be limited by the weight limit. You have to command them to pick up each item

Just know that you're probably going to end up being a sneaky stealth archer unless you actively try to play something else

My very first playthrough I did a heavy armor mage, which was brutal early on but pretty OP in the end with maxed enchanting and smithing

2nd build was stealth archer. Now it's SO hard to do a playthrough without turning into it, just so OP

One decision I did that I'm happy about is I waited until after the main quest line to join an army and start the civil war quest line. Depending on how far you get in that quest could cause issues getting other things later on, and some of the forts won't be as fun or lootable to visit if your faction already controls it.

Yes, the single shot with a bow is fulfilling. That being said, I typically go with one-handed weapons, a shield, and heavy armor. Carry weight can be a problem early on. Check what weapons and armor you're carrying in your inventory and drop the heaviest items that you aren't actually using.

If you join the Companions, you get a bed in Whiterun, AND you can store items in the chest outside the bedroom until you want to sell them.

For spells, I use the Fast Healing and Oakflesh. Fast healing after the fight; Oakflesh before the fight.

Have fun! I recently started another run through after reading a post on this board.

Don’t go full magic user. Magic is terrible in Skyrim because it doesn’t scale well with enemies and there isn’t a skill tree for cloth armor.

Lot of fun with mods, though.

op

with mods, you can literally make it into a new game for console. i know ps5 doesnt get a lot of the good mods that xbox does, but there are a lot for ps5/skyrim

i love the mods for new armor, weapons, etc the weapons in skyrim/and armor are bland. I mean the dwarves and orcs are smithing geniuses, and they have some of crappiest armor in the game.

But, a couple armor mods and you got sharp lookig armor

Also, a monster mod is a must, you can walk from one side of skyrim to the other and you might have 1 bear come after you. Adding more bandits camps, monster mod, etc and walking, especially at night can be dangerous.

also, the fully auto dwarven crossbow is still one of funnest mod weapons

when you start the game and it goes to main screen, you should have a mods section, press that and it will take you to bethesdas modding page for your console.

might have to create a bethesda account
