One of the only Resident Evil games I never got around to playing back in the day. Really excited to play the remake.

I'm definitely in. I get the feeling this remake will probably be the most different from the original than any we've seen so far (minus 3 which was different only in bad ways).
CV was a great game but it was sort of "all over the place" for lack of a better phrase. There's a lot you could do to make it a more complete and cohesive experience.
I also think they'll add a chapter of Claire actually in the Umbrella facility in Paris. In the original her breaking in and getting arrested is a cutscene when that really could be the opening act of the game. There's also some major tonal insanity you can clean up. Yes, I'm talking about you Steve.
And anyone denying the stark differences between how Western devs approach their female characters vs. Eastern is purposefully putting their heads in the sand.
Western Devs are obssesd with making their female protagonists haggard and slightly masculine in their facial features. Eastern devs make their female characters far more feminine and beautiful, even without having to "sexualize" them.

Whoa, easy on those grotesque western female character designs. You’re going to offend anyone who apparently finds that shite attractive or defends it for political/social capital.

Looks like cheap nostalgia bait
Give me a new RE game that isn’t afraid to take risks like RE7, even if that means having to wait 5 years for another game. The RE remake schtick with Capcom is starting to get old.

Well they aren't stopping with this one. If they remake CV they are remaking 5 too. The end of 9 pretty much confirms that they will want to revisit 5 also.

I'm kind of done with the remakes to be honest. It was cool back in 2019 because it was a fresh concept and Capcom hadn't done anything like it in nearly 20 years since the REmake, but now it just feels like they're milking it to death.
I really wish Capcom would be more open to taking huge risks like they did with RE7. None of the games they've made afterwards have been as different and unique in terms of the setting and gameplay style.

It will, as it should be. The original is extremely flawed with a lot of absurd design choices, as well as the worst backtracking in the whole series. The writing and voice work are also horrible. Despite these things, there are some really good environments and enemies, as well as some major story beats for the series. It is the game that is MOST in need of a remake in the entire series
I got the platinum for it a year or two ago and it was super stressful. I learned to appreciate it a bit more and now consider Zero the only “bad” game in the mainline series

Just saying I told yall this was coming. Also can’t wait since Claire is my favorite character in the RE verse. It says spring it’s going to drop on one of the last days of February in line with their earnings

Resident Evil Veronica new details!
- Confirmed to be a third-person only game
- Developed by the same team as RE2 and RE4 Remakes
- Capcom views Veronica as just as important as the numbered titles
- Game is called "Veronica" and not "Code Veronica" to align with the one word subtitle of their recent games
- Stars Claire, Chris and Albert Wesker
- Mashup of RE2 game mechanics
- Takes place 3 months after RE2 so Claire isn't a government agent or anything yet
- Taking what they have learnt from previous RE games including RE Requiem
- Want to respect the original, but also deliver a fresh experience

Can’t wait.
It’s an amazing game but has some extreme rough edges; tedious back tracking; and very easy to soft lock multiple points.
It’s definitely the hardest of the games that used tank controls by far
I hope they keep that spirit and make this the most difficult remake yet
Also odds Capcom has the balls to keep a minor villain a tranny? I put it at 15%

Code Veronica was one of my least liked RE games. I thought it was incredibly poorly made and extremely frustrating without a guide. All of the remakes so far have been spectacular though so im hoping that continues with this one

I have so many questions about how theyre going to update this game
Keep Alfred trans?
How do they modernize steve keeping his intended personality without him being cringe incarnate?
We know the chris whesker fight isnt a cutscene and will be a boss fight and he wont fight alexia. I assume that means claire fights her as her final boss. How do you remake events for this to play out?
How much will this tie back into whesker getting krauser at the end of re4 and now maybe he gets steve too? giving him the plaga and code veronica virus? Could this set up for a more interesting re5 ultimately when they are done remaking 0 and 1?
The groundwork was laid for this in re2 remake and re3make where you can find notes chris is traveling for answers so claire breaking into umbrella rashly makes a bit more sense. I am pretty sure they wont be doing claires part then chris part split and will be doing swapping back and forth like jill and carlos in 3 remake, instead of how the original game did it. This likely will allow for a better narative

Well, I don't think this will be an issue at all, modern Capcom has really gone to extra lengths, probably even overboard to make sure nobody is ever lost. The games make it very clear where you should be going and what yous hould be doing at all times. That certainly won't change with this remake.
Older games were usually shorter anyway so spending some time wandering around figuing stuff out was part of hte experience, games like original RE1 and 2 for example, but these days unless the game is built around adventure and discover in this day and age a player not knowing exactly what to do at all times is considered a major problem that needs fixing, which is why you end up with that yellow paint on f'ing everything.

The former freaks that we all confined to tumbler are having a nuclear meltdown on X
One tweet read “capcom has the balls to announce this in pride month! Claire is patently transphobic the entire game. Do they even care about us?”
If they actually go through with keeping the villain the same it’s going to be hilarious to watch the Hiroshima level meltdown of these people on launch

Alfred isn't even strictly "trans" in the game. He's more like a Norman Bates from Psycho type, can't cope with the loss of a loved one so pretends to be them as a coping mechanism, more like schizophrenia than gender confusion.
Regardless, I strongly get the feeling they cut that angle entirely out. Alfred pretending to be Alexia and what not. They could achieve the same effect by him having like a home made mannequin of her he parades around and talks to. The odds him being so over the top foppish is also quite low. Capcom is unfortunately woke-light these days. They don't explicitly pander tot he woke crowd which is good but they still very obviously tip toe around them.

I actually am not sure I agree wit you on this one.
I am sure just like SQE that have some annoying "ethics department" and it gets things slipped in under the radar at times but nothing to the degree of SQE
I mean lets look at what they put out
Pragmata- a game that stands against the entire concept of the post modern vision of people we lump together as woke
Their female characters in stuff like RE- all look extremely good and pretty providing an appealing character to play as
Im not sure what exactly is woke about them. Grace couldve easily been made a girl boss in RE9 but she is not, at all actually.
Do they have the balls to remake alfred true to his og character though? That I have doubts on

Well they took the sex humor out of the re4 remake which was annoying to me

Ashley still goes home and bangs leon in my head cannon
Posted on 6/20/26 at 7:28 pm to td01241
Leon’s wife; or who he ended up marrying is going to be part of the RE9 DLC and who it is has already leaked with concept art available for confirmation for those who want to know.
I went through the Veronica trailer frame by frame and there are definitely very covert hints to who it is.
Data miners have found a fully rigged playable model of Alyssa Ashcroft in the games filss which makes it likely she will be playable in some form in the DLC, but she isn’t his wife.
Also on another note I really like what little characterization of Chris we get from this trailer, which is basically just the type of room he was in while looking for umbrella and going over documents. There’s cigs all over the table and ash trays and dumb bells on the floor, this harkens back to how Chris was initially conceptualized in RE1 with Solid Snake being the creators initial idea as a comp for him
