In case you forgot

Most controversial moment in a video game? Not sure about other genres but I think it’s hands down the most controversial FPS moment.

Personally, I thought it was a masterpiece. It really made you feel something and made you realize just how insane Makarov (s/o to the goat FPS villain) was. The MW campaigns were legit.

Could a game ever do this again? I remember the backlash was pretty bad and plenty of countries banned the mission. Think Germany had it set to where if you shot a civilian you failed the mission.

if you thought using the M240 on civvies was brutal imagine my surprise when i switched guns and discovered the grenade launcher

bought MW2 on xbone after reading a thread about this mission a month or so ago. it still holds up. people are on multiplayer and special ops with a friend is still super fun.

I don't know, Rockstar pushes the boundaries, and I also feel like Video Games in general don't have to follow "PC Rules"

Rockstar games are a little different as in the focus of missions never involve killing civilians directly.

Sure you could go on a murder spree in free play, but No Russian was a mission designed with the purpose of slaughtering a bunch of civilians in an airport.

And rape sims are a thing in Japan, most notably Rapelay (where you have to stalk and then rape a mom and her 2 daughters to "win").

I felt like they dropped the ball with MW3's story. When I finished MW2 I thought it was going to be about Soap and Price taking down the deep state/military industrial complex while America invades Russia. I thought it was implied that Makarov died in boneyard.

Instead Makarov is alive and Russia is somehow conquering Europe after a failed invasion of the US? I don't know, it just felt like a generic ending to a pretty awesome story

Except it was done years before that game and done years after that game.
