Red Dead Redemption 2 Story mode - Still so much to do

I've never been able to bring myself to finish the game because I know how it ends and it saddens me. I'm playing through again, hopefully beyond the usual spot, and I realize how much I still have never touched here.
Anyone else feel this way about the game?

I've finished it (not 100% completion) and I can't play through the whole game for a 2nd time because yeah, I was pretty pissed even though I loved the game.
So I have a save in Chapter 2 that I play every once in awhile just to cause mayhem. I'll go shoot up some towns, rob a few stagecoaches, etc. But I just can't go do that one Strauss mission at Downes Ranch and I can't do the Strawberry mission to bust Micah out. I just can't do them for some reason.

I had 2 apparent glitches that keep me from 100%. A cave drawing and a flower that didn’t register. Why?? No idea.
I went everywhere and accomplished everything possible across the map before getting past chapter 4. I played as myself as Arthur.
I would like to revisit the game one day and just be ruthless and brutal especially knowing how the game ends.
Always like to mention this when I can:
(Spoiler??) somehow spectacularly I found that alien cult cabin for first time while riding around and waiting for sunrise and my next task. I walked into the cabin when the green lights came on. Gave me legit goosebumps. I later found out that I somehow stumbled onto it organically … full moon between 1a-2am . That’s pretty unreal. I didn’t even know that existed…
…love that game. Very possibly my favorite game ever

Only thing that keeps me from playing a new story again is the horrendously long start to it in the snow. I wish I could just start after the first camp setup near Valentine

I still play Online fairly often, this is my first time picking up story mode in awhile. I've probably put 20 hours into this playthrough and I realize how much more time it will take to even approach 100%.
Also when trotting around I realize all the places I've never even set foot in because the game won't guide you there on its own, it's just there for you to enjoy. For that reason I'm enjoying riding around in Story mode more.

But yeah, it's cool to play as the new character after Arthur and his story was basically an equivalent to an awesome dlc
Which is totally worth finishing up with Arthur for.

I've barely done anything other than hunt and I'm in like 100 plus hours.
End of the day, Arthur is a great but extremely flawed character. His ending situation can generate empathy, but I see it almost as a last test before the great beyond.

I've got about 5 or 6 hours in this game and just can't get into it. Its not fun. I don't like the controls, I don't like the survival mechanics, its too slow, its not an enjoyable experience for me. I loved the first one and got 100% of the main game, all hunting, flowers, etc but I'm finding excuses not to play more of RDR2.

I played a solid bit years ago on PS4 and got the urge to play it again.
Problem is I really don't feel like going through all the same BS just to get back to where I was. Wish there was a way to port over my progress.

I had this same hurdle as well, but this time around I started doing a lot more unlisted side content between. The only downside is not having access to some of the features (some guns are locked, don't have have deadeye painting yet).

I did read where there's a process where you can save your PS4 progress data to a flash drive them transfer it to your game files on the PC. I still have my ps4(covered in dust) so I might try see if I can figure it out.
...that is if the damned thing will even still turn on.

i played through it very thoroughly. atleast single player. i really loved the game.
i never got into the GTA online thing becaus ei just dont like the gta vibe. i was so hoping the online red dead experience would take off but it just was just so lackluster. I popped in a few months ago to see how it changed and looked like it had grown a bit but i was so lost at that point!

Hated GTA Online and Red Dead Online
I really like GTA, but I like Red Dead infinitely more.

The way they monetized Red Dead Online is disgusting.
Having said that, I enjoy the base gameplay and setting of Red Dead so much I didn't mind grinding the gold through doing the lower payout missions until I got enough to start doing the actual fun bounty hunter/collector stuff. Once you actually get the gold to unlock the other jobs the game opens up into what it should have been from the beginning.
It's fricking stupid that the most fun activities are essentially behind a paywall, but you can definitely take a f2p approach if you enjoy the game enough to do the online story missions and a few of the smaller basic missions.
One development approach I actually did like is that RDO scales your mission payout based on time spent doing the mission up to a max. So it disincentivizes the sweats from speedrunning the missions and actually rewards players for taking the time to scope out the mission area and come up with a good plan to execute and/or being thorough about searching the area for loot. The one downside being you end up having to delay mission turn-ins for some of the easier stuff that you just can't help but complete quickly, but overall I really liked that design as there's zero pressure to complete anything at a breakneck pace.

I'm playing through again to kind of see what I didn't see before. I did finish the last game and play quite a bit in the Epilogue.
Once again, I'm doing as much as possible in Chapter 2. I want to do a better job in Guarma and some of the side quests.

Anyone ever come across the ghost train. I never knew about it till I stumbled through it. Freaked me out at first lol

I appreciate Rockstar Games for their main stories and immersive worlds. I've never enjoyed the side activities in GTA or RDR

No but I stumbled across that ghost swamp girl similarly. The swamps in Lemoyne are a very creepy place at night. I had legit goosebumps first time I saw a dead guy hanging from a tree and triggered first encounter with the Night Folk. Music changes and red dots start appearing around you on the map. Creepy.
I’ve tried many times to make the ghost train appear but never had success. Not sure if it appears more than once.
I guess it’s possible it appeared one time while I was riding through early in the game, and maybe I just failed to notice it.

Really? I always felt like a strength of these games were their side missions.
