I played this afternoon and I was the only person showing on the map. It was kinda weird. Did that happen to anybody else?

That is not a reason to think they would be dropping additional content

Why think they would update their games to have something to do right? You honestly telling me you think there is enough content online right now? If so, this conversation is over because there's not talking to a brick wall.

Are you wanting them to just rush drop some type of additional content because you don't think there is enough to do in the game? I mean this is what Red Dead Online is.

No I want them, and games in general, to focus more on providing solid content rather than pushing micahtransactions so that can make some extra cash on a game already paid for.

If this is what red dead online is, it's doomed and will fail. no one is going to log on for Deer Hunter 2018 in rdr online if they dont update content.

This was what RDR1 online was.

That's nice. How long ago was that? No one wants or expects the exact same thing as RDR1 online.

They've said from the get-go they plan on going off the structure and success of GTA online.

So, are you under the assumption this update was a spur of the moment update or part of the general release plan of the Beta? What additional content were you expecting them to drop before the Beta was complete?
I’ve already stated what content I expected and this was obviously part of the general release plan which was to make sure to keep that money flowing while they update things. And this isn’t really a ‘beta’..that’s just something companies slap on to things to give them room to work on their unfinished products.

quote:

Considering they did a pretty big bug fix within like two weeks of things going live, they are doing plenty enough as far as updating fixes to the game. Work still left to be done, but dogging them for not fixing bugs is ludicrous.
Dogging them for opening up a store just get money while the game lacks any content and with some pretty bad bugs seems pretty okay in my book. I mean just before I typed this my game crashed after catching an 18lb sturgeon .

quote:

As far as nothing to do, i'm not sure what you were expecting. Did you not play RDR1 online? Was there not enough for you to do in that game either? I don't really understand what additional content you were/are expecting that they aren't delivering on.
Umm I was expecting more things to do. Comparing a previous title means nothing. Was there a bunch of things to do in GTA IV online or any of the previous titles? No, but fast forward to GTAV online and there’s almost too much to do.

quote:

Okay? So don't pay for it. Problem solved.
Well, duh .

Look I don’t want to come off as if I don’t like RockStar because I do. I’ve enjoyed every game I’ve played from them. It’s really Take Two that I have the problem with. This wouldn’t be the first thing they’ve ruined.

And they will update he game with additional content. Why are you assuming they would be dropping additional content within a couple weeks of launch, during the beta?

And it isn’t the exact same thing, but the base structure is the same. Assuming it wouldn’t be is absurd when they’ve done nothing to say anything to the contrary.

They've said from the get-go they plan on going off the structure and success of GTA online.

What have they done to not abide by that? What is different in the first 3-4 weeks of this and GTA online as far as content? The initial online was pretty basic stuff and no additional content was released for almost 2 months after the initial launch. It was pretty much just grinding missions over and over or just messing around. If you’re trying to compare the amount of content in GTA Online after 5 years of updates and RDR online after like 3 weeks.

They’ve already said there will be more content. They have never said there would be more content added during the beta. Getting upset because they haven’t done something they never said they would be doing makes absolutely no sense.

Okay, well we already know there will be more content. So, i guess that takes care of that point. You don’t think this is a beta period, okay, but they never said they were going to drop additional game content during this “beta” period. They’ve done everything they’ve said they were going to do at this point.

So, is this a beta or not? Are they using this period to work out all their bugs, yes or no? Again, with my above post, assuming they would just be dropping additional content this early is absurd. This period is being used to make sure the game is operating properly. They are doing exactly that. So yes, dogging then for doing what they already said they would be doing is absurd.

You guys must be remembering stuff at the beginning of GTA V online that I’m not. There was not that much to do initially. Lots of playing the same missions over and over again. Sure there is plenty to do now after 5 years, but comparing RDR to GTA now is just silly.

I’m not assuming you don’t like them. I just don’t get what they’ve ruined. They’ve done exactly what they said they would do. The base online is exactly what anyone should have assumed it would be at this point. They will be releasing more content that you want. Saying they may have ruined this because it is still in its beta phase or soft release or whatever you want to call it is ludicrous. That is my point.

Happens from time to time. Same thing happens in GTA. Can always reload a session and you’ll probably find people. Or just start grinding stranger missions with no interference

That is what I did this afternoon. I was able to knock out about 5 or 6 of them. It was also nice not getting shot by some dickhead while I was fishing like I did the other day...lol.

No one bother getting express ammo for PVP. I got to 31 yesterday and was excited to maybe kill people with one body shot with my bolt action rifle..... nope. I even have the rank 3 in peak conditioning adding a "lot (lol no)" more damage. A body shot takes them to about 10% health.

Maybe the Springfield will do it.

Still trying to be patient so I can play most wanted or team games when I want to so I can avoid the atrocious "name your weapon" bullshite game and the even worse battle royale with cheese game.

I got some shotgun slugs from a loot (can't remember where) but those things have been pretty awesome so far.

I bet Edgar Ross wished he could fish without getting shot by some dickhead.

they better crank some stuff out quick. Q1 2019 is jam packed with big releases. I'm on Chapter 5 of the campaign and probably wont touch online for long bc A) it sucks right now and B) I won't want to invest much time into it knowing that I'll quit with the bevy of solid releases in the coming weeks

Agreed. I am only lvl 33 and I am running out of shite to do. PVP isn't fun because I cant pick my mode and if I have to hear that bitch scream "GOD DAMN YOU TEDDY BROWN" one more time I might pull my hair out.

what's the gold/$/xp payout like for replaying these missions? I did it before they reset and it was hardly worth it.

Depends, but if nobody dies, it isn't bad. I think the Kill 'em all mission is like $14-$17 and usually 250+ xp not counting gameplay xp from the mission. Gold I can't remember, but maybe like .04 or something? Some of them aren't as good. I think the one where you hogtie the guys on the train track, i've never gotten much for that one, even doing it flawlessly. After the update, they are much more worth doing to grind money or XP.
