It's a scary and sad thing for me to go back and look at my post history for my first couple of years on this site.

We've come a long way since 2011.
Jeez where does the time go. Almost an entire decade since that thread.

I remember Fox starting that one with a pic of Cartman saying "can't wait" or something. Hence my " ". Then we got in a "thread war" with da clan.

We were so cool.

I give asylum props for being original and having a phenomenal atmosphere, but swinging around Arkham was just so much fun, and Asylum lacked that open area that took advantage of the aerial stuff.

City
Asylum
Origins

Never played Knight.

Origins (personally not as bad as everyone says it is)

Agree.

Just wasn't AA or AC, we expected a progression in quality which we didn't get.

Edt: For those with nVidia cards and a powerful enough system, AC had some of the best effects in any game to date.

Origins is under rated. No it didn’t anything new, but it had boss solid boss fights.

City
Asylum
Origins
Knight (story ruined it)

City, then Asylum. The other two are just meh.

That scene at the end of City. You KNOW what I'm talking about. Goosebumps.

In no particular order....

Knight has the best gameplay out of all 4. The gliding is just absolutely incredible and the fear takedowns are just awesome to watch. It only gets receptive with the constant tank battles as that should've been done sparingly. Worst part of the game is the cloud tank battle.

City has the best story out of all four games and is the definitive Batman atmosphere and feel to it. The Joker along with every villain was at their best here. Really loved going underground to wonder city and fighting Ras Al ghul.

Asylum may be limited as hell in gameplay compared to the others but it still has a great atmosphere and really captured the spirit of the battle between Batman and his enemies being trapped on an island together.

Origins may be a carbon copy of city but it still has the best boss fight ever out of all 4 games against Deathstroke as that moment made me feel like I was really Batman fighting against someone on my level.

I think people only say Knight is bad because of the overuse of the Batmobile.

This.

It completely soured people to the point where it made people overlook the incredible gameplay in other areas of the game and I still maintain that it has the best gameplay out of all the Arkham games.

And the story is still pretty solid and the expansion missions are my favorite part of the game with the final battle against Joker and Scarecrow being up there as well.

Hey, I was part of that thread and it was where I got my start on TD being fully immersed into this site.

You may think that was dumb but it's where I got my cringy and awkward as hell sig quote from.

replaying Asylum now and I was wrong, City is better. Asylum has some really tedious parts and boss fights and the traversal of the island just isnt good

I love the environment of Asylum a lot better. I get that it's a claustraphobic setting for a Batman game, but there's honestly not a part of that game that I found tedious other than any of the Poison Ivy stuff.

The thing City had going against it was trying to cram waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too many characters into it. I guess that's how you fill in side content for an open world environment, but stuff like the Mad Hatter section just seemed pointless. All of it kind of convoluted the main story.
