Some problems I have aside from Artifact weapons are the zones themselves. They feel small. They're too densely packed with all kinds of things above and below other things which makes navigating to quest updates a pain. They also feel linear and less wide open.

I have to disagree a little. I feel like this is the most robust questing since wrath. The zones, for the most part, are all tight and packed, as in there are not a lot of sweeping landscapes, but there is a tremendous amount of visual content. I did not find any of the zones linear. There were options to go to multiple different hubs at a time in every zone, also, the quest phase of the expansion as a whole is as un-linear as ever with the ability to start in four different zones. I've been very please with it, to be honest.

So is the game worth giving a poke?

As evidenced in this thread alone, some people will never be happy, no matter what Blizzard does or doesn't do.

I personally am enjoying it, and would recommend dropping in at least to give it a shot. It's a different direction from the previous two expansions that many people are liking, for the time being.

I mean fundamentally it is the same game it has been for 10 years now. If you don't like that (or are burned out on it) then skip it. If you want to poke around a bit and see how it goes then you can decide whether you want to pay to get in.

People were still pretty honeymoon with WoD at this point and that turned into a giant shitfest, so it is really too early to judge.

Though they do not publish subscriber counts anymore, they did state yesterday that over the last week they have had the highest concurrent user counts they have seen in several years.

If nothing else, they did a good job of generating positive buzz leading into the release.

Overal I think there are definitely signs that they fixed some of the issues from the previous expansions. The storyline actually feels like it matters. No more Panda bullshite or random time travel/dimension hopping. The Legion is here to frick shite up, fight them. Also actually killing off some big lore figures has made this feel real in a way MoP and WoD didn't.

The world quests are a nice balance between daily content and splurge content (you can do one per day or knock out all three every three days), which gives you flexibility in how you play. The Companion App should streamline a lot of the mission stuff.

The world feels alive at the moment and professions are actually more interesting than just picking the cheapest item and making it until you max rank.

Still the big failure of WoD was the first (and second,m and third) content patches, so let's see how this goes.

good for blizzard. if they release adequate content patches, the numbers will remain high.

minor side note, but I believe there's power in a name. burning crusade was a great name, wrath of the lich king was a great name, legion is a great name. cataclysm is decent, mists of pandaria sucks, warlords of draenor is ok but lacking. if the name of an expansion is any indication of success, legion at least has that going for it.

not to mention blizzard has a lot riding on this expansion to draw people back after previous expansions haven't done so well.

I am convinced half of you never played real raiding content in any version of wow with some of your responses.

Ive been with the game since vanilla where ive seen its peak (BC) and its ever loving shite hole valley (HFC for 1 year).

I am a mythic raiding Resto Shaman for a guild that is aiming to be front page Illidan (US).

The specs outside of Elemental Shaman, Ret Paladin, and Shadow Priest pretty much simulate in the same thresholds. WW Monk AOE needs a nerf and Outlaw Rogue can either make you king or court jester but thats how WoW life should be.

It WAS simply the best launch ive ever witnessed. If you were around for the opening of the AQ Gates you can see what a true clusterfrick is.

Class Halls look great outside of the Priest. Shaman Hall is amazing. I got 4 frickin elemental lords to chill with eff you whoever said its Garrisons 2.0.

So far im currently ilvl846 and waiting for Mythic+ / Heroic Nightmare to open so we can melt face. Mythic0 is way too easy.

Artifacts are badass and gives a different flavor to the game and matches the LORE. YOU ARE GOING AGAINST THE EFFIN BURNING LEGION. YOU NEED GOKU! errr DOOMHAMMER!

World Quests and Suramar, enough said. Suramar is the best developed city in all of gaming.

Again im convinced half of you are whiny casuals that roam on mmo-champion and post welfare threads.

Anyone who uses the term casual as an insult is a complete moron.

Talking about casuals in the game that dumbed down the genre is funny.

I'm sure if I had the time to take away from leveling up my real life I could be a hardcore raider like you. I don't get the reason for the insults... I hope you're world first on your server, make sure to put that on your Facebook page and resume when you get a chance.

You sound like a real cool guy. Also everything your post sounds totally legit, but really though 80k is Darfur level income on TD.

I've just never understood why people choosing to allocate time other activities is somehow an insult.

If being a top end raider is your jam then cool, but how is choosing to spend more time doing other things somehow bad?

He totally has a girlfriend though (probably a lingerie model) and makes sex on her all the time. You should respect him for his amazing ability to work from home, truly a paragon of industry in modern society.
