I haven't used PlayStation in a long time, but just created a PSN Account, being asked if I want to join PlayStation Plus, is this similar to Xbox Gold?

Welp, I guess that answers my question.

How are the free games?

Honestly don't even spend time downloading those or playing them often. Been too busy with other games. Some are going to be garbage though while some are worth it. Give or take kind of thing.

Literally the only one I've downloaded from PSN was Rocket League.

Xbox's free games are typically much better.

As a PS fanboy, Now is an easy pass...at least for me. I just fire up the PS2/3.

$20 a month just to stream games (or 3 months for $45). You can't own them. When you end your sub, you lose access to everything. The library is alright, but not complete by any stretch. I could see if there's a game or two you really want to play. Sign up for a month or so to play them, then quit. Otherwise, not really worth it. For not much more than the price of one year sub, you could grab a ps3 and buy old games to keep. But, I'm more of a physical disc guy when it comes to consoles.

There is a free 7-day trial. Worth a shot, then cancel on the last day.

Amazing. Basically like EA access with a much larger catalog.

I just wish the price were a bit lower.

I don't understand this at all.

Xbone offers the exact same thing and it's free.

PSNow is a crock of shite.

This just isn't true. PS Now is a service you can use on PS4, Vita, and PC. It's PS3 games delivered over cloud streaming. There are over 500 games to play on the service.

There is no alternative to it on Xbox 1.

Your loss. LittleBigPlanet 3, Tearaway, Everyone's Gone to the Rapture, and Resident Evil were downloaded immediately. Very happy to have waited for them to come on PS+.

I think he's forgetting you still have to own those games to be able to play them on the Xbone.

I actually prefer PSN's tendency to offer new indie games instead of old AAA games. Furi was one of my favorite games of last year, and I never would've played it iff not for PSN

Unless you wanna play cod with the 12 year olds or play battlefield 1 - which the multiplayer is army men 64 tier - I wouldn't buy it

I let mine expire a few months ago and never looked back

Bought all of those at release.

While you do have to own the game on Xbone to get backsward compatibility, the games are cheap on the live store. And I mean most people owned COD, Red Dead, etc...on 360 previously so they it's not like there are any issues w/ most titles.

Everyone has their own cup of tea, but getting games like Bioshock/Assassin's creed Black Flag and several others for free has been miles better.

I hardly even play my Xbone though

Pretty sure they had that for free it's sitting in my library and I haven't played it, NBA 2k16 last year, Tropico 3. They have had plenty.
