Yeah, and I'm out of ideas honestly... My next step would be to do a clean Windows install on a separate partition, and if the result is the same I'd start swapping out hardware for testing.
Wait, one more desperate idea -- Does this 280x happen to have a bios switch? You could always try the other bios.

It does. But I'm not opening it up tonight. I've beat my head against the wall enough.
Two theories - drivers (but I've tried three different ones with the same results) or it's stuck on 2d mode
Maybe my pc is telling me it wants a 970...who knows.

Got my Razer Anansi keyboard. 
Was on sale for cheap on cyber monday, I've been using a $15 walmart logitech wireless keyboard for years now, long overdue for a decent one. And all the colors!!! Who doesn't love light up multicolor control keyboards!!
Learning/remapping your mind to a new keyboard is the worst thing in the world though. So many typos and mishits for a day or two.

I hate UPS ground, I thought for sure I'd get my 290 tomorrow.
It got to St Louis at 7pm last night, and now it's just sitting there because it's ground shipping until Monday delivery.
No reason it should sit somewhere for over a day, get that bitch here tomorrow.

I'm not fckking with 4K, it isn't time yet. That goes for TVs and Monitors. This 1440/144/G-Sync monitor is nice, but TN doesn't compare to colors you get from IPS monitors like our Koreans and this new OLED TV we purchased.
Everything on this ASUS seems washed out, but games run super smooth. I find i'm catching less head aches while gaming for an extended period of time.
