So I spent some time browsing r/gamingpc. At first, I really liked the rule of not being allowed to give advice unless you have tech background. But then I realized that the benefits for the rule have been destroyed by extremely egotistical moderators.

It's not even a matter of squashing the morons who give advice similar to what you see on the Tech Board here. Basically, the reasoning behind the rule is so the mods can put forth their opinions and enforce them as facts. That includes brand bias based on anecdotal evidence. Argue and you get banned. No wonder there is so little activity there.

(I didn't get banned or anything. I was just reading old threads and references on subredditdrama.)

E-power went to their head. Just imagine how much their life must suck.

When you reinstall windows to the SSD, it will make you wipe the drive first, so just boot to your USB drive and follow the prompts.

I've seen a mix of the rule put to good use and being abused by mods. I wish it were more active.

How the hell do I hook this GPU up? Last thing and I don't think I have the connector for it?

PCIe 6-pin. What power supply are you using again?

Well you have a 6+2 cable. Use it. It's an 8-pin cable where 2 of the pins can separate from it. I know you have it.

Nope, that one goes to your motherboard's CPU power.

See pic above.

EDIT: Indeed

one end says Type 3 the other end says PCI-E and also has a split little 2 pin connector?

The non-split end goes into the power supply. The end with the split 2-pin goes into your video card -- not the 2-pin part. Just the other 6 pins. Some video cards require more power and use 8-pin connectors. Hence, many power supplies will have what's called a 6+2 connector, so that you can plug it into a 6-pin or an 8-pin connection on a video card.

Got that. First boot nothing on my monitor, the led light below the CPU is red the one on the bottom right of board is green, fans are spinning on both GPU and cpu.
