Those do baffle me. I don't think I've ever seen a midtower that couldn't handle the PCB size of even a reference card; maybe I just get lucky with the cases I pick. Perhaps people are trying to build ITX steam boxes with reference 7900 series cards.

No, download the free demo. That's the baseline for comparing scores. We all run the basic default test.

Absolutely turn it up to its rated specs. Intel system, right? Use XMP.

Holy shite, that's even better than the other deal going on (the Seasonic 650 gold for $59.99). With those prices, people would be stupid to choose any other PSU, assuming the wattage was sufficient for their system.

Also, htown has a 780, which I know significantly outperforms a single 7970, so he'd probably take the spot for third (unless there's someone else out there with a pair of 7970s or 770s that I'm not aware of)

I am so close to ordering a 7990 and a Korean IPS but that would be silly with the 9000s around the corner.
