There are some games that will never work well for crossfire/sli. I have read far cry is one of them that just gives people fits.

This thread is becomming funny with the new additions to our order.

Should hear me stout and diz while playing.
Diz was always a fps god in my eyes. To see him curled up in a corner when trying to respawn is some what heart breaking, But to be above him on the leaderboard makes me moist at the same time.

I need to run far cry 3 again with these new beta drivers and/or a proper radeonpro profile. I think I beat the game before I got my second 7970.
Coyote isn't going to get the third titan until he does his socket 2011 build. And you'd be surprised how demanding some games can be. With his two titans, on some of those notoriously demanding games he is still not achieving 120fps (overclocked 1440p monitor) with everything maxed out (including anti-aliasing).
With my two 7970s, there are a few games (Metro, Far Cry, Crysis, etc) where I just have to turn anti-aliasing off to stay at a consistent 60fps or higher. The beauty of 1440p, however, is that anti-aliasing is virtually unnoticeable either way.

Minds like his are better used on a multitude of topics, since he doesn't need to master any of them to be considered an authority on the subject.

A review of the new drivers said far cry was still a mess for sli and crossfire. When it comes to AA I honestly can't ell beyond 2x. Maybe I could if I did screenshots and compared but at 1080 I don't bother beyond that unless I have that much power/memory to spare.

Well it isn't really Far Cry itself, more so the game engine. Yes, Cry Engine 3 does demand a lot from your cards but you are rewarded with insane visuals.
I HAVE to OC my Titans to +50 core in FC3/Crysis 3 just to look in 60+ frames in 1440. Then again, I dod turn AA to x8 and that is not needed for 1440.

Correct. Just 2 until 4960X launches. (But I have been rethinking it, because I KNOW i'm buying a 9970 to replace my 7950 in the 2nd rig.
As for demanding titles.. Ppl don't realize how resource demanding it is gaming at a high level on 1440. Like I stated above and most of you are aware, I need OCs on my Titans to fully appreciate gaming above 60+ FPS with high detail. I have stated before, 1440 dislays require 30% more pixels to be rendered. That is a pretty big amount.

When it comes to the Metro series and the game engine 4A.. I just feel it to be terribly optimized, even with nVidia cards. So IMO it isn't just drivers but the engine itself.
Yes it is a great game engine, but 4A will rip you a new a-hole when gaming on high detail. I haven't played Last Light but that has been my experience with STALKER and Metro 2033.
