If I start a thread on building a PC, will you guys provide some assistance? I would post it here, but I don't want to clutter up this thread.
I almost have a complete build configured, but I have a number of questions (this is my first attempt at building a PC). I'm either doing this completely wrong, just a power supply selection away from a complete build, or somewhere in between.

This post that I'm typing up has become fairly lengthy. Prepare yourselves.

Test boot was great!

Nice! I have never done a test boot. I find it rather unnecessary

It's his first build, though. (I've never done a test boot, but I might have if I'd known better back then, but the internet wasn't near the plethora of knowledge it is now)

Good practice although I didn't do it on my first build. If it was DOA, you'd have to fool with taking it all out of the case which risks damaging components.
Glad to hear its working. Welcome to the master race.

Just realized you went with the Xigmatek case.

...it lives!!!!!!!!
Indeed I did. Great price and had the front USB 3.0 that my mobo was capable of having.

excellent work but broseph we have got to get those cables under control.
Posted on 7/19/13 at 1:31 am to puffulufogous
Haha yeah, the cables are a bit messy but most of them were too short or in the wrong spot to be fed into the back of the case. none of them are near any fans so it's all good.
