Yeah, I'll consult you guys if I have any issues. I'm hoping the newegg video will be enough to help me build, though.

This card is running BF3 at 60FPS on Ultra at 1080p and still no glitches.

They just listed a Zotac 660Ti with the same issue for $100 and I grabbed it.

Hopefully I have the same luck with it.

if they both work well, let me get that 660ti off you. My brother has finally decided that he needs dedicated graphics after trying to run witcher 2 on the 5800k.

Are you planning making your htpc a straight htpc or are you gonna make it a steambox with dedicated gpu?

This was always my plan so this 660 works out great.

I think I just need a PSU and a case now.

I have spare everything else on top of what Coyote sent to me.

well if you change your mind and want to go the apu route, my brother may be looking to go with changing out cpu and mobo as his needs shift away from what an apu can offer. Only reason I mention it is because I know you have a lot of mobos and if you want to sell that 660ti we might could work out a major swap. Just an idea, lots of variables in play.

I will think about it for sure but first let's hope the 660Ti is in good shape like this 660 is.

Even if it isn't me doing a relfow on it takes about an hour between stripping it down, putting it on my machine, putting it all back together and testing it.

I mean if you trust me enough that is. I have done 6 reflows so far and only ran into one I couldn't fix. It had a bad memory component on it causing the graphic glitches. I still have it and need to order the new DDR5 chip to replace it but I keep forgetting to.

I mean if it works it works. Plus I feel like you probably wouldn't frick me over on a $100 graphics card.

You obviously don't know me at all

j/k Of course I wouldn't do that. Not intentionally anyway.

this was the video that helped me out the most when I built mine. It's long but he takes his time and goes step by step through the whole build without any edits. I literally had it playing on my laptop while building and following along. The newegg videos had to many edits and missing a lot of the small tips you can really use.

Thanks. I did feel that newegg did cut out a few details that I would've liked to know as a newbie. I'll use that video instead.
