Nvidia releasing an RTX3060 with more VRAM than a better 3060ti and 3070 is just dumb, on top of the fact they can’t keep up with supply.
Vram difference on their site show the 3060TI with a 256 bit memory interface width, 3060 has 192 bit. Will be interesting to see the performance differences where vram matters. Doing renders or something similar.

For gaming at 1080p I doubt it will matter much at least memory wise. I’m curious just how much “slower” the RTX 3060 is than the 3060ti when benchmarks come out.
Because I think Nvidia just effectively killed their 3060ti.

Nvidia giving the RTX 3060 12 gb of vram compared to 8 for the 3060ti and 3070 lmao.
Nvidia can go frick itself
People really need to realize how much Nvidia is just trying to fleece people and make margins as ridiculous as possible. If AMD didn't exist doing what it's doing in their 6xxx series all we would ever have gotten is a 6 GB 3060 probably.
Nvidia looks absolutely out of touch releasing a 12 GB 3060 for $329 meanwhile their 3 more expensive cards at $399, $499 and $699 all have just 8-10 GB. But dont worry! A 12-16GB GB 3060 Super for $399+, 16 GB 3070 Super for $599+ and $849 20 GB 3080 Super is just around the corner!

Still no 6700 series though, thought they were supposed to debut them at CES.
Maybe taking higher road knowing they couldn't deliver them anyways if they wanted to. People are getting tired of paper launches they cant buy. Might as well hold onto it still you can really get legitimate stock.

That's definitely why

I doubt they're going to kill it, with limited memory bandwith and much less cores (offset some with higher clock speed) I bet the 3060 is 10-15% slower at minimum from 3060 Ti if it's $329 vs. $399 for Ti. IT will also be the new value champ though too. Especially with 12 GB VRAM.

AMD debuted the Zen 3 mobile chips, 8c/16t top model that boosts to 4.8GHz. Fastest ever for a mobile cpu. Actually insane.
Saw on LTT all the new Asus laptop line for the year and every single one of them are AMD except the TUF line strangely enough going with Intel which I thought was interesting.
OH well, stuff we cant buy till probably Q2 or even Q3 this year due to supply issues

Steam has more active users than Playstation or Xbox.

Seeing these $1300 3080s and 6800 XTs fly off of eBay is pretty frustrating.
People need to be patient so these mouth breathers throwing this shite on their CCs get fricked

I’m just gonna wait to see what 2021 brings. By the time these are readily available, the next series will be out.

Nice little synthetic boost in my CPU score from my 8700k to 9900kf. Faster ram comes in tomorrow, and I'll retest. Will be fun to see what it hits whenever I can get my hands on a new video card.
Old score:
New score:
No OCs yet. Planning on doing that once the ram comes in tomorrow

I think my best is 8865 CPU score with the 8700K at 5.2GHz all core.
But I think I've decided on the 5800X once I can get one without hassle, no rush.

Helluva boost over my base score.
I've gotten to the point that I'm now going to look for an Xbox 360 to play my copy of ncaa 14 over a new video card

For sure, they OC so well I think that's why the 9900K and even 10900K (looks like the same case for 11900K too) see no gains in gaming.

With an 8GB 3070? The 2080ti is better for 4K...
Posted on 1/14/21 at 7:44 am to UltimateHog
I looked through the techpowerup benches and they trade blows at 4k
And the 2080ti looks like it still goes for $900+ on ebay
