I’m thinking it’s time to upgrade the CPU? Are they just plug and play?
Not entirely. You're only upgrade option is a 3770k, but that's pretty old nowadays
To upgrade to anything new, you'll have to buy a new motherboard and ram at minimum

Blue, what do you recommend for an upgrade? I’d like to keep it under $300. Would you just get the new CPU or replace the motherboard and CPU. I would have to get new RAM with a new motherboard, right? My board now takes DDR3.

I would save up a little more while waiting for the AMD 5000 series to be more readily available.
If you can get to ~$500, you'll be able to get a new CPU, motherboard and 16gb DDR4 ram

What CPU and motherboard do you recommend? Also, would my current power supply be sufficient?

Nice, the 5900x is still playing hide and seek with me. I got someone in Atlanta hitting up microcenters for me. I don’t know if he is bored or what, but he has been going pretty much every morning prior to store opening and getting cards and cpus for people on a discord. Probably gets some decent tips from it.
My EK block for it arrived today though.

$150 over msrp, my max. Still feels dirty. Oh well. At least CPU's don't have markup.

What is the best way to go about hawking around for any of the cards? Signing up for in stock notifications? If so, RIP to my Gmail.

What card? The microcenter discord is a pretty good spot with a trading section and find out who has what stock, maybe you can get one of the guys there to get you one. There are a lot of discords out there with better bots than in stock notifications. Those email notifications are too slow to compete with auto buy bots. Don’t have any to recommend unfortunately, mine is very restrictive on who they give invites.

6800XT, 6900Xt, or a 3080. I’m going to scoop whatever I can find first, preferably one of the lesser two

Snail Monitor is the one I just got my 6800XT from.
