I can see 32" at 4k if I'm not playing mmos or fast paced games. Too much screen info for my liking for those types of games.

For you baws looking to upgrade to an RTX 30 series, theres a bunch of rumors right now in the tech world that this is a VERY paper launch, after the initial release of cards.

So if you guys want one, you may want to get in pre-orders asap.

EDIT: This has to do with Nvidia concerns over yields of the Samsung 8nm process being used.

Yeah Samsung's foundry has been struggling lately, their 5nm is a total mess and has already lost them a few contracts (including a massive one in Qualcomm) and Nvidia is looking at other options themselves. This 8nm is actually 3 years old and equal to 10nm too.

Something to keep an eye on going into the next Gen after this. It is not a good time to be trying to switch foundries.

At 41, I can't tell the difference between 4k and 1080p at about 2.5-3' where I usually sit from my 27"ers. I doubt I will upgrade my monitors anytime soon because of it. Maybe if I get glasses, otherwise 1440p is fine for me right now. Have gsync, good colors, and high Hz, so I will stick with this for awhile.

Index is where I need the 3090. That and a lot of VR games do piss poor at clearing VRAM and eat my 1080TIs up.

HDR with a wide color gamut and good brightness matter way more to the eye than the resolution uptick.

Just now starting to get decent ones. Avoid anything HDR400 that's fake HDR, HDR600 and above only.

That's why this LG GN950 is at such a great spot and well priced to boot. Checks almost all the boxes.

I'm all about clean high framerates at high resolution. Thats probably the only problem with my monitor. It's advertised as 1440p/165hz, but you get terrible ghosting/smearing. 144hz it's perfect.

I'm trying to think of a 3slot card I've owned, believe the only one was a Lightening card.

Just want to scream in this thread with lame excitement.

Soo many options, plus a new console year. Just a fun time to be a consumer in this space.

Edt: yes ghey, I know.

I think I'll end up staying with 8700K just because final year of support and I know I'll get the 5nm+ next year regardless so doesn't make sense for ~1 year.

LG GN950 + PS5 + 5900XT or whatever it's called.

Save cpu and new case for next year and Zen 4. Although maybe PS5 next year as well, none of the launch games really grab me.
