No, it's a "you have built a great life but like to brag about it a little too much on here." Some of us don't feel the need since it's a gaming board.

I do like to brag...but no more than some.

I just posted it in here because it's "you guys" and over the years we have all bullshitted here. Also, it's laughable you say you don't feel the need since it's the GB but yet you shared your vacation photos and stuff with us. No big deal because that's what I think this thread has allowed over the years, just pointing out that you are a little guilty of what you are accusing me of.

Now....if it makes you feel better I got hosed on some NVDA options in October.

See...I can admit mistakes to go along with my "brag"

Still way up for the year, though.

Do you guys feel confident in buying used of parts on eBay? I’d be worried they didn’t work.

this is a dumb question, but how do you guys decide what card would be best when upgrading? Do you all aim for new releases or focus on a previous/older brand?

eTA: this was a poorly worded question and maybe makes no sense

Resolution and refresh rate. Maintaining (not averaging, but MAINTAINING) above a certain FPS.
For instance, the best card for 1080p and 60hz is the 1070.

SK Hynix reveals JEDEC standard DDR5 5200MHz DRAM, 60% higher speeds than DDR4 at a lower voltage; Expected to enter the market in 2020

quote:

SK Hynix has developed the industry's first DDR5 memory that fully complies with JEDEC standards, creating 16Gb DRAM that is set to enter the market in force in 2020.

This DRAM operates at speeds of 5,200MHz, offering transfer rates that are far in excess of today's DDR4 memory, with 3,200MHz being common on today's high-end gaming machines. This represents a 60% advantage over 3200MHz DDR4 memory, speeds that are capable of processing 41.6GB of data per second.

On top of its speed advantages, DDR5 memory will operate at a lower voltage than DDR4, delivering a 30% power consumption reduction over DDR4. With DDR5, standard operating voltages will be lowered from 1.2V to 1.1V.

DDR5 DRAM is expected to explode in popularity moving into 2020 and account to 25% of DRAM market share in 2021 and 44% of market share in 2022, making investments in DDR5 DRAM technology vital for all major DRAM manufacturers.

Just so ppl who don't understand DDR. That headline is a little misleading.

You aren't gaining much speed. With each doubling you can increase clocks but also increase timings.

The gain is mostly in power consumption.

I'd rather be there at 5am today then later on. That place is going to be even more of a cluster.

And at least you're on a plane with other business people. I love early morning red eye flights out of MSY
