You got that 980Ti with a nicked wire right?

We can just keep repeating the upgrade cycle.

I'm keeping the DDR4. Just upgrading to a 2080Ti and Windows push of shtt microcode is forcing me to upgrade CPU/MOBO earlier than I would like.

Edt: Actually keeping everything. Case, D5 Pump, RADs, Fans, PSU, RAM, Drives.

I might keep the 6850K but sell the board. IDK yet. Want it for a server but its stupid. Runs hot and you can get a 6core Intel for pretty cheap without all that heat.

Nvidia RTX 2080 Ti graphics cards are dying on a lot of users

quote:

Worse still, some users who have been issued a replacement card by Nvidia have then been forced to return that one, too, suggesting that in some cases at least, the problem users are facing is not solved by simply giving them a new graphics card. That could hint at some sort of architectural defect.

I'm seeing a lot of 9700k only like 1% better than the 8700k. What a weird launch.

You surely post a lot of click bait articles.

No numbers, no reasons.. just "a lot".

Digital Trends is a click bait site.

I'm sure a problem is present but is it really a problem? I stay on other forums and this is the first I heard of it.

Well it is the same chip basically but higher clock. It is faster in certain conditions but slower in others.

+2 physical cores
-6 logical cores
+300Mhz stock Turbo

It is BS Intel took HT away from the i7 line. Not like it really matters all that much but they know what they are doing with the "state" of gaming. Ppl just don't launch Steam+Game but launch all sorts of other programs, watch youtube videos, etc while gaming. That is when those logical cores really help you out.

I didn't need to upgrade from my Ivy Bridge-E 2yrs ago but the price of decent 5yr old X79 boards forced my hand.

Agree, I am happy and sad they hold their price. I contribute that to several reasons but main ones are:

1. Less X-series boards are produced
2. Ppl use these boards for servers
3. There is a high failure rate within enthusiast boards
4. Enthusiast boards start pricey already
