You are paying for dumb Tensor cores.
And it is like this everyu gen. the increase in price. Is it warranted? Sometimes. In this case it probably is due to die size. Those fckkers are huge. So you get a higher failure rate relative to wafer output. Are they still over priced? Would say yes but by how much? Hard to say.

2. Larger die
3. Tensor core arch
No don't expect them to be cheap. They are honestly right where most would have placed them in terms of price.
Is this your first gen launch?
Edt: Joke is also relative here. You are talking price/performance or price/upgrade or just performance increase?

Got my truck stolen out my driveway this morning at fckking 5:54 AM. Have them on camera casing the place at 2:28 AM. Came back later to steal my truck.

I think the msrp for the 980 Ti was 650 and the 1080 TI was 700. Huge improvement for only 50 dollars. 2080 TI is like 1200 MSRP for what a 30% increase?

From a consumer standpoint, what would I choose? 1080 TI which is 100 cheaper than the 2080 or probably going to go on sale vs a new card that has the same numbers but more cost?

Do they still make aftermarket recorders for TV? My mom live in a senior living complex and they provide cable with no box so a Cox DVR is out of the question. I am looking for one that can record more than one show at a time, if they exist.

You aren't just paying for Ray tracing.
The Tensor cores enable use of a few near techs that have almost as much impact as Ray Tracing. DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) offer huge improvements in rendor time and image quality.

I know all of that but nobody has that yet. That's what I'm saying. The tech isn't out yet and doesn't look to be anytime this year. Why make 3 models with the RTX branding? Just make the Ti the RTX and everything below a regular GTX and get generational improvements with the same cost value. I think they screwed themselves because if you don't think DLSS or Ray tracing are coming soon, just buy a 1080 Ti that is cheaper. I know I keep repeating the same thing but it really is my main point. Why buy a 2080 if the 1080 Ti is cheaper and in some cases better? Especially right now when black friday is coming and people have been waiting for the cards. They are gonna be dissapointed that the cards are more money but offer the same performance in 1440p and 4k (excluding the 2080 Ti).

Found my truck abadoned. Windows down and filled with rain water. Outside of that nothing. Took nothing. Insurance covers a total look over and cleaning.
They did leave the radio station on 93.3. Locals in BR/NO will understand.
