hah, yeah... weve all made dumb mistakes.
i couldnt get mine to boot because I didnt hook up the switch in the front of the case. Didnt think it was important and thought i could just flip the PSU switch
then when i did finally hookup the front case power switch, i put the pins in the wrong sockets (even though its color coded).
also my HDD failed when installing win7 and had to be RMAd.

I spent forever trying to make my monitor speakers work including on the phone with tech support. Turns out there were no speakers in the monitor haha

Not PC related but first time I hooked up 360 with HD component cables I switched audio and video red cables so everything was green, I was so confused

I've noticed two things that are stumping me on my new build.
1. When I plug mouse into comp when it's off and PSU is switched off or on, the mouse LED's are off. But if I turn on computer and then turn it off with mouse still plugged in and PSU switched on, the LED's wont turn off on the mouse....kinda weird
Very minor issue.
2. LED board, I didnt really know what I was doing when I was wiring this thing but for some reason, I can get it to work perfectly with fans that are plugged into h100i or mobo but not with the fans hooked up to my lamptron FC.
When I plug the lamptron fans into the led board, it turns on the led that the led power board has on it, even if the switch is disengaged and then starts smoking/melting the 2 pin extension after a minute or so.
It's like the lamptron reverses the flow of electricity from the fan's led 2 pin port. Or maybe it just delivers way more voltage to the fan and that power spills over into the led circuit? I don't know, pretty much just decided the lamptron FC and my led board are not compatible.
Strangest thing ever.
Fans not attached to lamptron FC work exactly as intended, spinning with or without LED which is controlled by a latching vandal switch.
ETA:
I'm gonna run 3dmark 11 that i d/l last night, when i get home today. Any other must-benchmarks?
I'm also using HWmonitor right now to see my temps, good program?
Looks like I'm at 32-34 degrees C with 4770K @ stock 3.5 GHz.

Mind re socketing that 1155 asus board I fricked up?
Not at all but give me a little more practice. I am still not 100% on it and pulled pads on a board yesterday by accident. I did two Asus boards today though with no problems.
Also reflowed a 560Ti I am about to test.

didn't want you to use up all your 1155 sockets and then have to order more.

Nah, I plan on keeping a few around at all times. I used 2 today and plan on using 6 more up but I have 2 I put away I am going to keep as spare. I have some 1366 here as well just in case.
I did this little board today because I got it for free from a guy I bought a bunch of boards from and an Asus P8Z77-V Deluxe. I have a Sabertooth Z77 coming in Thursday I am a bit nervous about doing because it has capacitors all around the CPU.

I didn't even know you had finally ordered everything. What all did you end up going with?
