I didn't say it was a shithole. I just don't want to go.
But to answer your question Utah and Colorado are nice. I have considered moving there if my dad wasn't sick. I can work from anywhere so I am strongly considering moving to different places for 6 months to a year at a time for the hell of it.

North Carolina is also pretty.
I've always been fond of Northern Arizona myself. Clean, dry, crisp air..
This is something I want to start doing. We only have X amount of time to live and tired of being stuck in 1 place.

Tampa is one of the funnest cities I have been to. Went down for the Outback Bowl between Auburn and Northwestern a few years ago. Great times!!!

Flagstaff is an awesome place. Visited once, and I was sold.

Yea I like NC and SC. Almost moved to the "Lowcountry" years back.
I'd live in Vegas for a while before I would Zona.

I like the idea of it (I'd have to be childless and possibly single), but the act of packing and unpacking is just a beating. It would definitely force me to downsize. Not even including everything I had to put to the curb last month, there was just so much shite stuffed in the back of closets and cabinets that we weren't even using and probably should've just tossed a long time ago. No time to sort through it yet, so it's all in bins and boxes until we move back into our house.
On a related note, the most depressing part of the demolition so far was having to destroy the tile countertop and backsplash that I'd done 100% by myself a few years ago (I was proud of it because it was the first time I'd ever attempted anything like it):
The cabinets are salvageable, but I had to get them away from the walls, and the only way to do it was to destroy the countertop, and the backsplash was fricked in the process as well:
Just gonna do formica now.

Are you being compensated enough from FEMA/Insurance?

That is a pretty sweet setup. I do miss my larger desk at home but this one will do in the apartment for now.
Nice monitors
What are you playing BTW? Overwatch?

I don't have flood insurance (live in Zone X), and the FEMA grant money is basically meant for emergency basics to make the house livable. However, FEMA did give us $14K based on the damage, and it's going to be enough to get the house back in order if spent wisely. We are doing everything ourselves, because the contractor labor would consume every bit of it instantly. But materials are actually cheap if you DIY. A few hundred for drywall and insulation, a couple grand on wood laminate flooring, thousand bucks worth of paint and supplies, a few hundred on interior doors, and some other big expenses like a fridge, oven, and countertop, plus a cheap living room set to get by for a while. AC is fine, as are washer, dryer, and dishwasher, and being able to keep the cabinets is a pretty significant savings. My parents and coworkers have pretty well covered all of the toys and books my kids lost.
There might be a little leftover to get a desk like the one in Blue's pic. My shitty walmart desk fell apart.

My desk is basically the following...
This big ole desk table with this other desk table to complete the L shape. I have basically two of these at the end of each side of the L with the Adils pegs underneath

So the whole Hunger Games series is coming out Nov 8th in 4K HDR Bluray.
Surely if they are doing it with that they will do Harry Potter for Coyote.
$42.99 for the part 2 finale too.

Soooo glad I bought an Xbone S for the 4K BR player now that the PS Pro doesn't have one. Keeping it now.
Posted on 9/7/16 at 6:15 pm to UltimateHog
It doesn't?
That will kill sales. I was buying another PS4 for UHD Blu-rays.
