Me too, well was gonna sell XBS but not now. No use for it or desire to get the Pro. What a fail.

I would say to pull the trigger if you are wanting a 4K BR player still, although I did read other brands were releasing theirs this fall, so may be able to get a standalone 4K BR player for $200 or so.

Still think the XB1S is well worth in that situation though.

My dad likes to drink beer and talk about how much of an a-hole he is at work. Not sure if he has ever played a video game.

Your Dad seems a lot cooler but I do love my Pops.

Stout.. you might have put Vegas in my head. Just randomly planned a weekend trip on the 22nd.

Honestly have never visited and have almost no interest but oddly wanted to go.

Me and my brother are debating Raiders season tickets if/when they move to Vegas.

So cheap to just fly in for a game and fly out.

Yeah Vegas flights are super cheap. Out of Houston and when I go back home, it's cheap to fly NO to Houston for the connecting flight.

Really hoping these consoles pushing HDR so hard will result in some HDR monitors next year. Should.

We already have tons of 10 bit and 12 bit panels, hell my LG is a 10 bit 4K panel, had no idea it was 10 bit color.

But with no HDR to take advantage of the extra color space it matters little.

Yeah I really thought by this time in 2016 we would have HDR monitors.

Went over to Reddit and one of the top posts was about what the HDR console craze means for PC.

They pretty much echo the same stuff, console games that support it will do so on PC too, PC will start getting HDR monitors next year, etc.

I am glad to see that people are realizing HDR is a bigger impact on visuals than 4K resolution is.

There is nothing more annoying than someone buying a cheap 4K TV and talking about how it's underwhelming, having no idea that HDR is a bigger feature and impact than the resolution bump. Like no shite, 4K is a mediocre upgrade on it's own, it's the 10 bit color gamut and HDR that blows you away.

A 12 bit 4K HDR PC monitor will be absolutely insane.

HDR is nothing new for PCs. It has been around since about 08. We just never got the monitors.

Then it's never been around.

Next year will be big. Can't wait.

Whatever the cost I will have a Freesync 4K HDR IPS monitor.

I know the 1080/70/60 and RX 480/70/60 all support HDR, not sure if the older cards will be able to via an update or not.

Top Golf is a cool place, I'm just not a golfer and I don't drink, some good "talent" usually working.

Nothing like missing a full day of college football because of flying back home and being in a damn airport all day.

The Nexus 6 honestly wasn't that bad of a phone.

It is just too damn big for my liking and it was pretty expensive. Plus, there wasn't a smaller variant that was supposed to be the direct successor to the Nexus 5.

Still rocking my nexus 6. Might even take it to Q3/4 2017.

From PCPer..
quote:

Adrian Courrèges Discusses DOOM Rendering Techniques

quote:

Adrian Courrèges is a software developer who, from time to time, does a break down on rendering techniques for major gaming titles. His latest one is on DOOM, and it explains, in remarkably simple (given the subject matter) terms, how the game draws a frame at a point early in the game. Most of the information was gathered from using debug tools, but a bit was pulled from Tiago Sousa and Jean Geffroy's slide deck at last month's SIGGRAPH conference.
