Yea I've looked at them too. I would like one for work I think.

I've thought the same but love or maybe just used to the physical border between applications while using dual monitors.

I do a lot of multitasking on my computer every day and I seriously think an ultrawide would be awesome for what I do. Not sure I could game on one though.

I still prefer dual 16:9 monitors for productivity. I tend to throw a lot of windows on the second monitor to reference, and also use half of my main monitor for that purpose as well. It just seems to provide more real estate than ultra-wide, and I do like the physical border the second monitor provides. Only thing I wish is that they were both 1440P, but I don't think I've had identical-resolution dual monitors in over 7 years.

What's a good reference for advanced graphics settings? I have a feeling I'm going to need to make some concessions with the 970 pushing 1440. No more Ultra everything :(

Are you ready to water cool a 780 Ti! lol
A D5 pump with EKWB top, EKWB Res and EKWB fittings come FREE of charge with the purchase of a GTX 780 Ti at the low low price of $250!
Edt: I'll do it all for you, but you will need to make the drive from Denham to Thibodaux.

I can't do two water-cooled 780Tis. That's a new PSU too. And probably a new place to live. Every time I get a new part, I tell my wife it's the last one...she knows better now.

She better get used to it. Haha

One of my 980s is idling at 18C right now, the other at 19. It's cold in here.
Doing an all-nighter for work. Glad I get paid for overtime.

I had a dream last night that the creator's of The Stanley Parable made another game.
Can someone help me out, is this true? What is the title's name?
My Google is broken..

I'm ready to ditch the console and upgrade to PC. I want to get it done right, and have something that can last me for several years. VR definitely down the line. So, a pair of questions for you pros:
1. How big do you think the performance jump will we see with HBM2? I'd rather hold out a few more months and pay a little more for a Pascall card than get a 970 (or better) now if the jump will be significant.
2. GSYNC sounds awesome. So does high framerates on 144fps panels. Are the benefits of GSYNC (reduced input lag, no tearing, etc) noticeable when your framerate is in the triple digits?

Supposed to be a big performance gain, but the hype train roars every year.

Higher the frame rate, lower the input lag, regardless of gsync. Your sensitivity to tearing will determine whether you'd notice a difference between gsync on or off at triple-digit frame rates. Coyote could tell you his experience. I've only seen gsync for a short time, about a year ago, at frame rates in the 50s to 70s. The best thing about it was not being able to notice frame rate fluctuations as much. And of course no tearing.

Yep lol
As for the Gsync questions, I suggest look for a good panel before just the Gsync feature. I was an early adopter of Gsync and paid for it with a shtty TN panel. I will rarely play on my Swift and stay on my old IPS panel 1440p Koreans.
Go for good image quality then buy into a Free/Gsync feature.

I have had my Gsync Acer IPS 27" 1440p for a bit now. It's so fricking nice. It would be hard to go back to no gsync.
Sounds like I am glad I didn't get the swift and waited for the IPS panel.

Just can't bring myself to spend $700 on it. I want to, and told myself I would around tax time last year, too. Maybe this year...
