Well I did the connector test for the PS and it turned right on, but as soon as it's connected to the MB it won't turn on. Anything else I should check?

disconnect all drives, remove graphics card. Only thing that should be connected to motherboard: CPU/cooler, CPU power, 24-pin power, 1 stick of ram. Barebones to see if it powers on.
Otherwise, it's probably the mobo.

I forget what your issue ended up being ultimately. Was it the board?
Posted on 2/10/15 at 9:49 pm to ILikeLSUToo
Yeah. VRMs weren't getting enough to juice the pci slot for the gpu. And cpu was throttling every 10 seconds or so.

Well, you aren't alone in MB issues now.

This is the inside of a computer that has been used in our plant for over 5 year and not been cleaned, I can't believe this thing still works.

Also, due to a friendly recommendation I hooked up my power supply to my old build and it fired right up aaaaand ASR approved my RMA request

Nice, I know it's a pain but at least they are standing behind it.

FrozenCPU Shuts Its Doors
quote:
The owner has struggled a long battle with addiction, and events that unfolded earlier last week have rendered the company unoperational and shut down for good. Physical damage of the warehouse has occurred as well as the dismissal of all support and warehouse staff; the company has no plans of re-establishing themselves.
performance-pcs.com is all we have left now.
Haven't read the long thread to get the rest of the story yet, though. Apparently it's mostly unconfirmed "insiders," although a Swiftech rep chimed in and said they were closed, followed by a retraction by the swiftech ceo.
I hated frozencpu for their high shipping costs, but they had some good stuff.
EDIT:
quote:
In addition to this statement the guys over at HardOCP, have managed to contact the owner of FrozenCPU, Mark Fringa. The owner says that FrozenCPU is in fact not going out of business but does say that they currently running with a "skeleton crew" of employees.
The owner says to please bare with the company at this difficult time as they ramp back up to 100% employee capacity.
Promising, perhaps. At any rate, I wouldn't order from frozencpu for a little while if you want your order to arrive reasonably fast.

I read that a Primochill rep posted a quote from the owner on Facebook saying they were operating with a skeleton crew and to bare with them until they can get new employees to run at 100% again. I don't know what to believe, but I was just about to order some new LEDs and CCFLs from there but I guess I'll be going elsewhere just in case.

It would surprise me if they never came back, regardless of what happened. If it's making money, but the owner really does have issues, then someone ought to buy it and take the reins.

Every one of my components arrived yesterday, but my monitor doesn't come in till monday
I'm itchy as hell to start assembling, probably going to wait for my monitor though.

There is no way I could hold myself back if I had a working monitor.

I don't have a monitor at all. This will be my first PC
I want to be sure everything works as soon as possible after assembly. Plus I'm going out of town this weekend. I'll have pretty much all day Tuesday to work on it.
