This is absolutely true, but you should go all the way! You're not paying $500 up front for the console, you're simply paying $35 a month for 2 years at no interest, which shouldn't even be a dent in your monthly finances. This leaves you with $500 you intended to use, but didn't. Invest the entire $500! Use it to pay down other debts! Any other use is better.

So true. That $20 with 10% returns will net you $4 and change over 2 years.

Which is still a better return than spending the $500 outright, but the problem here is we aren't talking about $20. We're talking about $500.

ETA: You could also invest the cost of Game Pass for two years at market value if you wanted to do that. Makes it an even better deal.

2020 is a weird year. Xbox fan girls are shilling over putting their game console on a credit payment plan. What a year it is.

I'm not talking about the console. If PlayStation was offering this, and you intended to purchase that console, then it would still be a smart idea to purchase that console using this method and use those funds for something else. Especially if you invest the $500 instead (or use it to pay down interest-bearing debt).

Yikes. I don’t think Microsoft thought the PS fans would be so triggered by this.

The reason I don't mess with xbox is because y'all named several of their systems and I couldn't tell you a damn thing about any of them or know how to distinguish them.

You realize every big box store in the past and currently including amazon offer no interest financing on big purchases for anywhere between 12-24 months?

Cool man. You should definitely take advantage of that.

ETA: Really not sure how you thought that would change anything I've said in this thread.

Dear god

How poor are you that you can’t buy a XBOX straight up

This to me is the funniest part about all of these console fights, I'll spend more on shoes or fishing equipment then the cost of these consoles.

It’s okay my dude. Take your L along with Microsoft. Thanks for the entertainment.

Bro, you're in every xbox thread crying. Are you trying to convince us or yourself that PS5 is better? Grasping at 'muh exclusives' or 'xboxers financing', anything not to talk about the superior hardware. You're like a closeted homosexual trying to convince his friends dating men isn't such a bad idea. It's ok dude, stop worrying about what other people are going to think, let yourself out, be gay, get the PS5, you don't have to justify it to us, they aren't mutually exclusive.

Why do you keep responding to me? Why are you worried about how you think I feel? Are you sure...that deep down in that subconscious of yours...you maybe need to let yourself out?

It's ok, bro. The PS5 is fine. You can let go of the Series X now.

Hmm, not sure about that. It's just so weak.

Because the GPU is literally less powerful than both the PS4 Pro's and XBoneX.

So the PS4 won't hold back the PS5 in terms of games development, but the Xbox Series S is a problem because it's "just so weak"?

"Terfalops" is one metric to measure the computational output of a GPU. You simply can't compare old GCN architectures to RDNA 2. Not only are you getting a massive increase in efficiency with RDNA 2, you're getting completely novel feature sets, like ray-tracing and variable rate shading, which will further enhance performance.

And as you've mentioned in the past, graphics engines are highly scalable. The Series S is designed to be a 1080p machine, and the 20 CU RDNA 2 GPU is fitting for that target. If you do the math, the Series S has greater computational peformance per pixel at 1080p than the Series X (or PS5) do at 4K.

What really makes the Series S work though is that it contains the same Zen 2 CPU cores and NVME SSD as the Series X. Any game logic written to run on next-generation systems like the PS5 and Series X will therefore have zero issues running on the Series S.

It's amazing how many of you are bad with money.

I guess that is pretty typical for people who buy video games, but I thought it wouldn't be so extremely prevalent here.

Yet you think throwing crediting an xbox is worth the meniscal amount of return if you would get if invested
