I sure hope so. All of Nintendo’s recent budget models prove Ryan to be a complete fool if he means the release and not the development. Don’t think I’ve ever seen a budget model of a console that wasn’t successful at least relative to the current sales of said console.

I think the $35 a month for 24 that gets you
An Xbox series x, Xbox live gold, and ultimate pass is the steal.

Is PlayStation doing something like this?

I agree with this. I'm jumping all over that deal. Going to be at my Game Stop early on Tuesday to make sure I get my application in. My credit should definitely be good enough for 0% interest.

Y’all really out here putting an xbox on credit?

No wonder y’all suck off a $299 console.

Seriously, I’m glad I already paid for my PS5. Imagine financing a console AND having to pay $70 to play new games. Oof.

Nah. The high school and college kids will love that deal though.

Is much as I love me some Xbox over Sony, I do not think there is anything more sad than financing a game console over 2 years.

What was the savings over 2 years $20 or maybe $40? Does not make since, you do not own it until paid off and there is a lot of things that can happen over 2 years.

You can cancel game pass whenever and still use the console to play games you own. You cannot cancel the installment plan without losing the console or paying off the balance.

Just seems like a unneeded headache to save so few dollars over 2 years. You could save the same amount by eating ramen noodles instead of going out once to restaurant.

Anyone that does not have $299, $399 or $499 to purchase a console, should not buy a console. The last thing a person that poor should have is a freaking 4k gaming console.

I need to make sure I don't miss any of my car payments for 96 months.

It's weird how many people don't understand the time value of money.

ETA: By that I mean all who don't see the value in 0% interest for 2 years. It's worth more than the marginal savings on the console and game pass subscription. Even simply keeping that money in a savings account for two years is better than paying for it up front, if you can get 0% interest. If you invest the money instead, you can easily see how there are many much better ways to use those funds while also getting exactly what you want.

That might be why some are doing it, but it isn't why I'm doing it.

I also find it hard to believe people like this will qualify for 0% interest.

Nevermind that the $35 a month includes new game releases, but are you really saying putting together $105 in a month with a new game release would be difficult for you to do?

I'm honestly worried about some of y'all's financial situations here, but I guess that's a given with folks who don't understand the value of keeping more of their own money.

Says the guy who has done nothing but try to justify financials regarding a few hundred dollar console.

Have you ever considered that it isn’t about finances for most of us?

I'm sure it isn't. That's the problem with folks who are bad with money.

Or that we are good with money and don’t have to worry about cheap consoles and “Value”...

Try harder next time.

Oh it's definitely not that, because you just showed that you don't understand a word of what I've said.

He changed my mind. I am going to put that extra $20 in my Roth IRA; it will pay dividends in the future!
