Same. I do a diverse main playbook and tend to evolve it over time.

I usually will do a run/option heavy playbook and a pass heavy playbook as well because outside of my main dynasty with USC, I’ll do one run heavy and one pass heavy dynasty with a couple of G5 schools.

I liked to bounce around with playbooks based off my team’s strengths. I liked to try random schools playbooks to spice the game up. Do the same with Madden. Also makes me a more well rounded play caller.

I enjoy mastering a playbook and building an elite squad to be able to run it...

Then either change jobs and go with a new playbook and build a new perfect team, or just switch playbooks and rebuild my current team to fit my new scheme

the cool thing about being able to hire/fire coordinators in CFB25 is that you can say "this guy/system sucks, I'm firing you and hiring someone to come in a change things up / modernize / etc".

Regarding custom playbooks, something I used to do when a game started to get stale was build my own from scratch. I'd think of a personnel grouping I really like, whether its a 22, 21, 12, 10, etc and only pick formations that utilize that grouping. Then, within each formation pick 4 run plays - inside zone, outside zone, iso, power, 4 playactions off those run plays, 2 short route pass plays, 2 medium, and 2 long. If I wanted to be an option team I'd change that a little, or if I wanted to be a jet motion offense I'd be sure to have those, but ultimately my goal was to pare down a play book to have a grouping of plays that made sense and played off each other.

But again...that was for older NCAA games when I had more time on my hands and played so much that I got bored with the offenses already in the game.

I used to love picking a job (typically a rebuilding one) based on what HC jobs came open that past offseason. So like Boston College, Wyoming, New Mexico, South Alabama etc this year. Pick a new identity and scheme each time and see what bigger jobs come open.

If the coaching carousel is similar to the old College Hoops games that will be awesome

Madden players are going to be irate when they see all College Football is getting in just the first year

I bet the Madden devs are PISSED that they’ll have to actually work now

Yeah I don’t have a reason to play Madden now that college football is back. I hope it makes Madden a better game for it, versus the $70 roster updates every year

People were saying on Reddit that EA could release this game every 2 years and charge $30 for roster updates/gameplay improvements next year while they’re developing the next game. I would eat that shite up

I would be cool with that as long as they are somewhat responsive to fixing bugs and don't just release a broken game for 2 years

Just read that blog, and whew they're all in on this.

I am curious about if JUCOs will be in the game. I didn't see it in the blog, but that was always a good way to build a bad team up quicky ala Bill Snyder Kstate. Wonder if they removed it for the transfer portal players instead.

It was really cool back in 2004 or 2005 when they had D2 schools and historic teams in the game. I wonder if they’re bringing that back at any point.

JUCOs were in the older games but I never recall the players being all that good. Were usually low 70s

I would get a few each IRL year in the low to mid 80s but that’s because I would seldom recruit them unless they were highly rated and I absolutely needed a starting caliber player at that position.
