This game will take forever.
I'm level 20 and I am just now leaving Velen/Novigrad.
Also, that archgriffin was a bitch to kill at lvl 20.

Ditto. I'm about to hit 19, only have about 7 or 8 ?'s left on the map. Still have about a dozen witcher contracts left, though. They shouldn't take too long since I've gotten to most of the fast travel markers.
Ever since discovering how awesome Quen is, the only thing that's really fricked me up in Velen/Novigrad was some sort of forest creature straight out of a Miyazaki film. Thing summoned a bunch of level 20 wolves midway through the fight. Gonna come back to it later in the game if I can remember where it was.

Level 19, just arrived on Skellige. I'm enjoying taking my time.
Decided to frick with this Fiend for the screenshots.
He was too high of a level to beat, so I ran away after that.

I think that is a Leshen (sp?). If it is a tall, skinny, wood-looking creature with deer antlers, that's it. I can't think of anything else that summons wolves. Once you hit 20, that fight should be a breeze. Just use fire.
I fought it earlier today.

I fought it like level 11 and was doing fine until he summoned the level 20+ wolves...Finally was able to seclude those wolves and kill them 1 at a time and then finish off the tree beast.

Been playing for a week and didn't learn or look at the character screen enough to see the mutagen bonus thingy.
That should make things a tad easier.
Off tomorrow, so I am going to hit it hard tonight.

Yes, they help quite a bit.
I do have a question for anyone that might have an answer:
I have the fast attack and strong attack leveled up 5 out of 5. If I then level up the next available upgrades for the fast and strong attack and then equip them, do I still need the already upgraded perk equipped as well to keep those bonuses? Same question for the sign perks as well. I ask because there is obviously a limited number of slots as you all know.

Yea, upgrade whirl, it is fantastic. Especially if you are surrounded.

Is there a tracker for the collect all gwent cards?

That is definitely a fiend. The other monster you mentioned doesn't get on four legs. I fought one and spared another in a contract of the monster you mentioned and those things are probably my favorite monsters in the game. They look badass.

I wish.
It doesn't even have to tell me where everything is, just the area (Velen/Novigrad,etc...) and whether I have the card or not.
Also, anyone know where to pick up the spy with 0 attack?

***POSSIBLE GWENT CARD SPOILERS***
From Gremita in Skellige. Got mine last night.
Speaking of Gwent, I have like 7 heroes in my deck now including both the 15 power cards of Gerald and Ciri. I literally just thrash everyone I play now.
Posted on 6/11/15 at 12:06 pm to McCaigBro69
I use thaler/avallach cards along with a decoy and I end up with like 13-14 cards in the first round

I played another game of gwent, but obviously I'm too far into the game, still with my starting deck, to beat anyone. Based on my limited time playing, it doesn't seem like there's much strategy to the game. Just have better cards than your opponent.

There is some strategy, some luck and then of course the better the deck, the easier it will be.

Once someone else beats Collect Em All, let me know.

There are definitely some situations where strategy is key, but yeah pretty much the better deck usually wins.

Virtually all of the checklists for gwent cards are incorrect. Some say only 3 exist of X card while I have 4 and vice versa. I am filling out a full list right now and will post the results but I am still 10 or so cars from being done I think.
