dont waste money on the special. the extra content in preorder packages is always trash and the gear is worthless after a few hours

I bought Ultimate Edition. I buy like 2 games a year, so I just went all out. I figure $100 is a pittance for the amount of entertainment this will give me.

my buddy preordered the special edition, then called and downgraded it to the regular edition, but they still gave him all the special edition stuff

Yep. Rockstar has generally delivered on their extra game content. At this point, they are one of the few that I'll buy all the content I can get.

what are you talking about? The special edition includes nothing like that. the special edition is little nick nack garbage, not expansive DLC like undead nightmare.

no doubt that mission got cut early in development and the guns and gear will be worthless once the story gets going. no way thats worth an extra $20

because that's how preorder guns have worked in every game I've ever preordered. you're OP for the first few hours of the game and then you find stuff that's better.
that, or they'll give you exclusive skins for normal guns, which is even stupider.
ETA: you played GTA V with me right? driving around the track for that exploit? think of the preorder guns from GTA V - trash.

before we start the Carson beat down, let us all be reminded that the Rockstar that put out and created "UnDead Nightmare" and RD1 are long gone.
The most recent impression of Rockstar we have to go by is the Rockstar that made gazillions off of Shark Cards in GTA V.

also very true. GTAV Online was so greedily developed and implemented that i have 0 interest in Red Dead's online. Anyone that thinks it will be different is delusional

I don't disagree that's how it works the vast majority of the time, but I'm going off of RDR1 right now. For the most part the weapons were all pretty good across the board. Yes some did certain things better than others but they were also useful for certain situations. It wasn't until some of the extra DLC's that some real OP guns got introduced. So, I wouldn't necessarily assume that the extra guns will get outclassed within the base game.

I agree this is dumb. But I believe the ultimate gives you two additional missions as well as a special online area access/mission.
I'm not saying it is for everyone, but I've rarely felt like I didn't get my money's worth when it comes to rockstar.

Holy frick! I just read the game needs 107 GB to download. I have one of the first xbox one consoles... There's no way I can put RDR2 on my xbone.

You can go buy a 1 TB external hard drive for like $50. Takes like 15 minutes to set up
