I just cant get over how many people i know, who i know, knew not a thing of pokemon are now playing. It is scary. May be a bit before we see something like this again.

It's crazy. I knew about pokemon growing up because of the cartoon and card games that some of my friends played, but I never got into either. My only real experience with pokemon was playing as pikachu and jigglypuff in super smash brothers. This is the first pokemon game I've ever played, and I'm hooked.

I pretty much knew who Pikachu was and that's about it. This is really my first foray into the world.

Someone just posted a Lure at one of the stops near me. Doduos GALORE!

Yea, it's crazy how a mile changes the entire game. At my house, I find a pidgey or rat every five minutes or so walking around if I'm lucky. I went into the office today, and it was absurd. I work in the middle of a couple of high rises, and pokemon would just pop up every minute or so. I walked outside of my building that has a giant koi pond, and there were literally five magikarp and one Dratini just hanging around. In just 30 minutes, I caught 9 pokemon with higher CP than any of the pokemon that I'd caught before, and added ten new pokemon to my pokedex. Location really is everything in this game.

Incense definitely works.

I used it today and in 30 minutes I caught:
5x Drowzee (including a level 382)
3x Zubat
2x Jigglypuff
2x Magikarp
2x Dratini
2x Goldeen
2x Psyduck
2x Weedle
1 Kakuna
1 Caterpie
1 Shellder
1 Hypno
1 Rhyhorn
1 Geodude
1 Gloom
1 Eevee

I also have 3 Hypnos and a Pidgeot as Gym Leaders right now (777, 660, 597, and 595 CP so they will probably be dead by morning...)

Damn that's a lot. None of my incense has been that effective. Were you moving around or stationary?

think I read that incense and lures are more effective if moving around.

the game rewards walking around. might be small sample size and confirmation bias... but when I use incense before falling asleep I catch 5 or 6 garbage pokemon in 30 minutes. sure as frick not what Saintsfan posted above. he had to of been incensed and walking around a lure.

Jesus, how do you guys have stuff over 1000? I just got my Jolteon to 600 and that's been a struggle.

Were you at a stop the whole time with a lure on? Cause incense doesn't produce that many. I think it is designed to bring 5-6 extra over a 30 minute span.
