Got my win. Promos for Silver 5 tomorrow. Unless I get just terribad teammates, I should be Silver by the end of tomorrow.

Gonna officially start ranked play to day (outside of placements).



To all you new(er) players out there, this game doesn't start or even reach half of it's potential until you've been playing long after level 30. Ranked just makes it better. I'm glad I waited so long after 30 before I started ranked play. I would have placed Cardboard VIII had I started ranked as soon as I hit 30.

Loving it more and more every day.

Just read a doublelift blog. He sounds so depressed. He's of the opinion that Riot has killed ADC's... and seems to have felt that way for a while.

Super tank meta, broken supports, OP AD's that bully lane and also scale hard late. If you don't play Lucian or Jinx, then you better be godly.
Gives Sivir a shout out for the ult, but only cites Draven as an answer for them if you are perfect mechanically... and also maybe Varus if you can play him.

I guess most people don't understand roles and characters. You have a tough matchup bot with a champion like Vayne or Tristana that only get strong late, but you don't gank bot? Farm is more important? You trying to feed kills to that Super tank Renekton top that isn't building any damage.
And you wonder why you lose hard at 25min?

Totally why I want to play ranked and get to gold+.
Hopefully I can avoid the idiots.

I truly hope you are right. I don't mind when someone plays badly. I don't mind in normals when they admit, "hey, i screwed this up. sorry guys. let's surrender and try again." It's a game. It's for fun. I get that.

It's just depressing that when I get excited by a game when I realize that I'm not the only one warding, or pushing a turret, or making a call for dragon.... it means I'm not playing the same game as the majority that log on. I don't mind sucking. I know I will vs experienced players, but I try not to keep dying and make a difference somewhere else. I mind that I understand those mistakes, get better, and try to play the game correctly. I just don't see that from alot of other people.

I recognize that I need to play more normal picks so I can understand team comps and synergies. So, i'll probably do that more now. I must admit that it scared me for a long time given my complete lack of knowledge of most champs.

Not in my games. I love for a blitz, annie, thresh to get the kill when they make a play. Lets them build a better kit and make more plays. I do mind when they screw up my cs in lane.... don't ward... don't position well and get picked. This is stuff that everyone should know.... even someone who doesn't know how to play support.

For Lucian, his kit never changed. They just nerfed everyone else. Plus, recent changes have helped his kit be more impactful. He can escape, stun, and a kite ulti. Tough for tanks without a gap closer to stick on him.

I can't blame casual gamers for following the pros. We don't have the time to find the hidden op champs like they do. And when not banned, the Pro pick rates on those two champs are pretty high, too.

You do have some old Pro players like Lift that still love Ez and Vayne. They are niche picks, but he's mastered them and can make them playable. However, that doesn't mean that joe blow can.
To further the point, all ADCs without an escape get punished in lane by CC supports. Once flash is blown, most hope is lost.... especially without any range.

If I want out of Bronze-Hell.... everything I read from the Pros says to get yourself out.

Tanky top, tanky jungle can't do it for me. I just don't have enough of an impact to carry.

Assassin jungle can if my team doesn't feed and they let me get the kills, but that doesn't happen alot.

So, are my only options to become a mid lane or adc? I'm starting to think so.

My Orianna & Zyra mid experiences have been really positive, but I haven't played mid enough to know how I'll do. But, those two champs don't hard carry. They are like Ashe bot... great team utility, but you need a decent team to use them.

And to be honest, that's always been my personality in sports.
"I like to let PF get the layup b/c I get my share and he doesn't" kinda stuff.
So, being forced to hard carry in a team game just bothers me. That's why I was drawn to the jungle and to champs that have alot of utility.

Now, I'm told I have to carry to get good teammates. Yuck.

Good tip. I've been watching League vids online for months. I got Apple TV so I could 'cut the cord'. However, cable programming is still required at home.

Please don't be "that guy" and play ranked right when you hit 30. Learn how to play each role, master 2, master 2 or 3 champs for those 2 mastered roles, buy runes, watch streams, then play ranked. There's too many new level 30s who absolutely have no idea how to play competitively (not saying you're one of them) and throw games hard by not taking objectives, playing champs they haven't mastered, and just simply lacking in the critical thinking you need to play at a high level. Also gold will take a lot of time to achieve. The higher elos forces you to put more time into the game. Good luck to you on your gold chase.

I'm 15-4 in ranked the last 8 days and haven't skipped a single division. What do you have to do to skip? Go 20-0?

Didn't skip to Silver 4 even though I'm on a 7 winstreak and 16-4 lol.
