I saw a giant and figured...maybe I'll get something for talking to him. A few seconds later I was tumbling end over end about 1000 miles above the map. Took about 8 seconds for me to hit the ground from the hit I took from him

Not yet. There is a Wiki, but it will take some time for it to cover everything. Right now, there are only tidbits of info on it.

I'm really thinking about picking this game up, but I just don't want to be bored with it.
I'm not strictly a FPS person but I do like the games to be exiting, i guess. I really love games that have an "epic" feel. Loved Assassins Creed/Brotherhood and RDR and LoZ:OoT (even though that's older)
I'll probably just get it. I'm sure I'll like it

It feels pretty epic when a dragon shows up and starts strafing random shite with fire and then all the local guards and villagers start trying to fight it and you go kill it for them

yea the videos i've seen of battles with dragons have been one of the reasons the game looks awesome

Keep in mind that a lot of the game comes from enjoying exploring.
If you just want action action action, this game might not be for you.

I'll be joining this noob crew as well. Just ordered it today (Amazon has buy one get one 50% off FYI). Haven't played any other Elder Scroll games, or really any console games in a while. Anyone know if the official guide is worth it? Its like 700 pages!

IMO, NO! A big part of the game is discovery. You know how when you look up a cheat code for the game it tends to ruin the game play.

Not having played any of these games, this has been pretty cool so far, but I don't know what the hell is going on at all, no idea how to build a char, somehow I killed a dragon though.
