Is there no "reveal all map locations" perk in this game? If not, this thing will take forever to truly finish.

I get the notice. And let them fend for themselves. My wandering around aimlessly is much more important.

I've actually never been able to SEE an attack on a settlement. It's always while I'm fast traveling. Then I head back to whatever's being attacked and find out that either they won or everything's fricked.
I always miss this notice on the screen. I've gotten to where anytime I fast travel, the first thing I do is I look at the MISC quests to see if a settlement is under attack.
I can't figure out a patter to when they happen, but when they do, I usually have 2 to 3 in a real short time, then a long break with no attacks.

I'm 60 and 110hrs in and never witnessed an attack, nor sure if one ever took place.
Edt: Have about 5-6 active settlements with the Castle holding 100 settlers.

Does anyone think survival is becoming easy, even outside of PA at higher levels? I'm about to use a mod to increase damage done by NPCs.

Once I got the weave, things got a lot easier but I didn't even know about it until I was well past level 50.
The Southern Region is still fairly tough at level 67. Not really Dying tough, just battles take longer because everyone has way more HP.
I'm on normal diff. I would imagine the hardest diff would be tough.
Been a while since I died. I would have died in Quincy even though I was in my PA but I had the armor mod to auto administer Stimpacks. Wasn't expecting that fight and I started getting hit by 1 legendary and 3 named folks along with some high ranking gunners with Plasma weapons.

You've had attacks, you just haven't noticed the message telling you that you are a failure.

Weave rank 3 on my fatigues, all ultra light weight combat armor, sneak rank 4, sneak bobblehead and a few sneak books with silenced weapons, ninja rank 3, sand man rank 3, cloak and dagger, killshot, gunslinger 1 rank from max. Can pop off a whole mag in VATS, run away and re-hide.
Who needs power armor?

Glowing Sea. Need it there.

Playing on Survival and the game is becoming a cake walk. Seems pretty early for the game to be this easy, especially since I haven't completed the main quest yet.

Yeah, I have to be missing it.

A word of advice...do not start building in your settlement, you'll become obsessed and not want to do anything but build a huge structure. It's addicting as shite.

Sneak is overpowered. Game breaking. They never quite get the hang of balancing things. No different than infinite intelligence would break Morrowind or max smithing with enchanting and potions making would make Skyrim a cakewalk.
I don't mind this. I don't want the game to be a grind from day one until completion. I want to feel like I am becoming Mr. Supreme Big Nuts of the Wasteland.
Having said that, I have avoided putting points in the sneak skills to keep it from becoming too easy.

can't figure out why I am not producing any water. I have something like 14 settlers in Sanctuary and 150 water production. the internets say I should be getting excess purified water in my storage every day but i'm not seeing any.
also, do we have to harvest all the damn crops too? I thought that's what the assigned workers were for.

Finally got around to doing the First bit of the Railroad questline (Ie completing the Freedom Trail).
I don't want to spoil things, but aside from searching the 'Net was there actually a clue in-game somewhere which told you what the password was for Railroad entry?
Posted on 12/10/15 at 10:39 am to AustinDawg
I've found markers along the red brick that had a letter circled, but if I hadnt looked it up I probably would have never figured it out.
Posted on 12/10/15 at 10:41 am to AustinDawg
Yeah, then you follow the freedom trail there are markers, with a number and a letter marked. Write them down and then you have to decipher what the password is. It was actually really easy.
Posted on 12/10/15 at 10:45 am to ZacAttack
Gah.. thanks!
I followed the trail but didn't actually bother clicking on each marker along the way.

Are you using a water purifier or wells?

They make perks too strong. You can't balance the game with Super Strong perks because it will then make it impossible for people not using said perks.
