I'm thinking about unlocking that one next. If I'm ever going to do anything with settlements, I need that local leader perk though.

And what is everyone doing with excess guns? Scrapping, selling? I have a ton I'll never use because I won't make my mind up to scrap or sell. I've never even purchased from a merchant yet...27 hours in.

I'm level 67 and I really never sold much. It is too much of a pain and the merchants have almost no gold.

With all of my settlements with some stores, they make gold so I don't really need to sell stuff and I've never really seen any items I was dying to buy.

At the moment I have about 30,000 gold. Really only spend gold to grab 44 ammo.

I've noticed the stores carry a lot more caps too.

Throw them on a companion or let them rot in my bench.

Need to either scrap them using scrapper perk (int 5) or sell them at diamond city probably

The Black Ops right shinguard.
10% faster movement.

The Champions left arm.
+1 strength and Endurance

Once you are in the flow of doing a few radiant quests for scrap, the you can stop scrapping all of the weapons and you can max modify them and give them to settlements.

I think settlers will sometimes pick up weapons if they successfully defend attacks, but for the most part they are all using crap .38 weapons.

I am working on upgrading all my settlers to have badass guns and armor instead of shitty pipe pistols and nothing. Already have enough money

Just wished they always walked around gun out so I would know if I armed them or not.

I just saw them pick up guns for the first time. I might start just leaving them around. They paid the Iron Price.

Guy, a little advice.

Put two points into idiot savant ASAP. I don't care if you are level 30+ already. It is worth it.

How are you guys on consoles dealing with dead bodies in settlements after an attack?

If it wasn't for the PC console, there is no other way of cleaning up after an attack.

Step over them. I don't do shite with settlements. I only do my crafting in Sanctuary and store weapons and armor in the crafting stations.

I had a settler pick up a dropped minigun during a super mutant attack

Just casually picked that sucker up and let the bullets fly

I do the same thing. I decided that after I finish the main story I will work on my settlements. Right now I just use them for crafting and storage. I don't know how many times I've seen "failed to defend settlement" message.

I'm 36 hours in and finished the story. Settlement has never been attacked as far as I know. They know what's up.

It is a real pain in the arse if you spent lots of time and junk on a settlement to have it destroyed because you didn't help out.

I've had some pretty beastly attacks hit. Multiple direction Super Mutants with missiles.

Whole system is a bit buggy. I've sat there waiting for attacks. Slept in the settlement. Waited. Nothing. Headed home only to get...YOU FRAKING FAILED. Then I go check the settlement and everyone is dead, crops destroyed, wells destroyed and all turrets damaged.
