Official Evolve Thread (Out Now!)

Seemed like the beta was hit and miss for most.
I was in the PC alpha and beta and really really liked it. Think I'm gonna grab it.
Felt different, hadn't felt that in awhile, even if it is an FPS of sorts, doesn't feel like one at all. So much else going on and more important than the FPS element.
Never did get a chance to play as the monster, wanted to save it for the full game, usually ran support and a few medic and a few assault.
The hunt and chase is a blast. Best part.
(4 players hunt the 5th player who is a monster, have to track and locate it's footprints or birds spooking or just sounds etc, and then trap the monster and kill it before it kills all 4 of your teammates, each teammate picks a class between Assault, Medic, Support, and Trapper and has their job to do but have limited time as the monster as it eats and builds XP Evolves to a new stage with 3 being the highest, if not killed by the team and he gets to Evolve to stage 3 you are most likely fricked and he will murder all of you)

i've watched some YouTubers videos on Evolve for a while now and it looks like it could be fun. But for me I would be concerned of it's staying power unless you had a group of 3 or 4 friends who were playing it every night. Just seems like you would get burnt out once you unlocked everything and played it thru a time or two.

That's the risk of buying multiplayer-only games, particularly on PC. Surge of players for a month or two, and then they all go back to CS:GO, BF, TF2, etc. -- unless, as you said, you have a group of friends who will also play it with you consistently.
It seems like a decent game. I don't know if I'll buy it unless something beyond what I've seen/played already convinces me after release.

I played a few games of the alpha and it was really fun. It seemed like after a week I would be tired of it though. After titanfall I won't be purchasing a multiplayer title only unless it's priced around 29 or so though

Played the demo. Fun as shite with friends and not so fun with randoms. It would be better with randoms if anyone still talked on Xbox Live like they did in the past.
My only worry is that they have seem to set the game up to sell shite tons of DLC.

Nothing like being throttled to the max when a new game is launching tonight and you're trying to preload.

It's a great game man, reviews so far are loving it and deservedly so, with a team, it's something new and fresh that isn't out there currently to experience.
Highly recommend, even if people just rent it for a few weeks, well worth it.

Will be purchasing this whenever I see a sale for it somewhere. Not sure I could convince my friends I played the Beta with to drop $60 so quickly after we all bought GTA.
I assume there will be a discounted version with a bunch of dlc included popping up in the marketplace.

I got the Xbox version tonight, havent played multiplayer yet because I want to get my bearings in single player.
Really fun so far, lost my first game as Goliath and then won my second as Val the medic. Trying to convince some friends to pick it up this week so well see how that goes.

Any feedback on how good or bad matchmaking is on Xbone or PS4? I had a terrible time with errors or other matchmaking issues( puts me in matches that are incomplete with one or two people missing or it puts me in the middle of a game session in progress) during the beta on Xbone.
