Very.

how much does blacksmithing come into play? Is it the fastest or best way to get good equipment?

A lot, fast way to get great items. Best way is still using the Auction House once you have a bunch of gold.

ETA: Done for the night I think. Level 43 Wizard, just finished Act 2 on Nightmare.

No you have to play out each difficulty level in succession. If you tried, you'd instadie the first time someone hit you.

Any of you a 30-ish witchdoctor? What kind o build are you using? I'm still mainly just using leaping spiders, garg, and spamming dire bats. Wondering if theres a better build? I always play my WD paired up with my DH friend, btw.

I just don't want running in Normal to effect PvP later on.

No clue what state PvP is in being in Beta.

I'm level 55 and playin hell difficulty. frick some of the mobs in hell difficulty. Had a group last night that dropped the purple beams everywhere, froze you and launched mortars as well. I kept getting frozen, a beam dropped on my arse as well as fireballs...

I dunno about y'all but hell difficulty is tough as shite, not even lookin forward to inferno.

And can someone give me advice on finding items? It may just be my horrible luck but I haven't found a single legendary item yet. The rares I find are few and far between and most of the time are junk. Every piece of equipment I have thats not blue I bought off the AH. I've had my MF as high as 55% and still can't find anything, while my buddy sits at 7% and has found 5 legendaries already...

Got a 48 Wizard sitting pretty. Just took a trip to old Whimsyshire. I figured that if I didn't get the whole "cow level" thing out of my system early, I'd go insane later.

Yeah, at first i was around 15% MF, so I started buyin some gear that had it, got it up to 55% and still couldn't find ANYTHING. Said to hell with it and have gone for gear that helps me survive as opposed to MF. Sittin around 25% MF right now.

What's your MF?

It's just the way she goes apparentally. I've resorted to building up shite tons of gold and buying what I need on the AH. My crafting has taken a hit but it's what I gotta do to have the gear to continue to level...

Loot is also VERY dependent on how many people are in the party. You may get lucky here and there, but 3-4 people is where the drops happen. 55% with 3 people and your bags'll be full constantly.

Well, I also heard that your MF averages out for the party. Dunno if thats true or not but for instance if I'm at 55% and the other 3 are at 10, our MF would be around 15-20%... Any truth to that?

Edit: I thought it was seperate since loot is all seperate but a guy I work with told me today MF isn't... So I'm confused.

MF is averaged out for the party. Can't link it at the moment but I've read it several places.

EDIT:
Since every player will have their own loot in cooperative play, the Magic Find in group situations will be averaged across the group.[3]
Here's an example with a group of three people:
Player 1's MF: 100
Player 2's MF: 80
Player 3's MF: 0
Magic Find for each player: (100 + 80 + 0) / 3 = 60.
To recap: Every players personal Magic Find will be summarized and then divided by the number of players.
This prevents players in public games from stacking Magic Find and tagging along while doing minimal effort in killing monsters but getting the best chances of getting great drops. This might also discourage cooperative play since other people with low Magic Find percentage might lower your overall Magic Find.
The Nephalem Valor buff covers the entire group.

I got busy with work and life and wasn't able to play this past weekend, but I'm a level 22, and change my WD up.

Mostly I use horrify, and the spiders unless I'm going into this trash enemies, then I use exploding frogs to clear them out, along with my garg.

i have a 30 WD. i use the bouncing skulls and haunt with devil dogs and the gargantuan. 2 is set to exploding dogs (i love that skill) and i use the passives that let me have 4 dogs and exploding dogs have a chance to spawn new dogs. its like a neverending chain of exploding dogs.
