Ive played every BF game since BFbc2, but im an average player at best. Ive only recently noticed a major improvement in my performance in this game just by doing a couple things: GETTING THE frick DOWN and using cover better. Im not saying to camp out the whole time and never move. But in this game it seems to be more critical than ever to use cover and get your arse down. And PTFO.

I agree, they did an incredible job to make you feel like you're really there...as far as a damn video game goes. The sights and sounds are just badass. The artillery roaring overhead, guys screaming bloody murder, etc...

That being said, we are long overdue for new content. I am dying for some new operations maps. Playing Conquer Hell, Kaiserschlact, and Iron Walls over and over again is getting old.

Yeah, I'm learning to use cover and play more slowly. I tend to play most FPSes the same: locate nearest objective/gunfight and run towards it to get into the action as quickly as possible. You do that here and you're dead, fast. You really have to pay attention and choose your positions and avenues of approach carefully.

I agree that the new DLC is needed. The game is phenomenal but it suffers from slim content on initial release, which seems to be a DICE standard.

14 maps is 4 more at launch than BF4 and in general quite a lot anymore, 8 game modes to 6 with the two not included being Air Superiority and Squad Deathmatch. The good thing with Dice is they deliver absolutely tons of content, see BF4 and why that community was/is so large for so long, they supported that title for so long with tons of content including community chosen free maps/content as well.

BF1 will be around for quite some time with content and updates in droves.

I played BF4 only a very little bit right at the end of its life cycle. My main experience with DICE prior to BF1 has been SW Battlefront, which I love, but which also suffered from limited content upon initial release. Of course they added in a lot more stuff with DLCs, and they'll do the same with BF1. It just takes a while.

Yeah I don't have a clue about Battlefront, but BF1 launched with quite a lot of content. 14 maps at launch is a lot my man.

Some of those maps are just subsections of other, larger maps, so they really can't be said to be different.

I had been playing with the same squad mates for 7 or 8 straight rounds and at some point we decided to join a party so we could communicate. During one of the rounds we were in the same bunker of the Forest Map, and one of my TMs threw an incinerary grenade right as an opponent ran threw the open door. One of my squad mates must have been playing with one of their kids right there because in the background I hear this little kid (like 4 or 5 years old) say, "dont shoot. Let them burn". I had to stop playing I was laughing so hard.

I don't follow. Conquest maps are gigantic and there are still 14 of them. I think that only makes it even more embarrassing for games like Call of Duty or Titanfall or Halo that have extremely small maps and still release with 8-10 maps.

Ha! My not-quite-two-year-old son likes to watch when I play. His vocabulary is very limited, of course, but whenever I die (which is often), he will yell, "Oh no!"

There are 10 Conquest maps, I'm pretty sure. And Giant's Shadow was a later add on. So, really released with 9 maps.

Point still stands, it released with the same amount of large maps as any other shooter in the last few years, and if talking the smaller game modes it launched with 14 which is more than any other shooter.

Still not a lack of content at launch IMO, compared to other shooters.

That can wait. We need hardcore mode operations. And an increase in player numbers on rush. 12v12 isn't big enough. Needs to be doubled.

and honestly if you play enough, which I definitely do , you start to find little things in each map that didn't catch your attention before. Operations is by and large getting a bit stale, but Conquest is simply the best squad based FPS mode of all time. That's the problem with COD. their principal game mode is so repetitive it loses it's allure really fast. whereas almost every Conquest match is inherently different from the one you just finished IMO
