Definitely getting it. Will likely pick it up and shelve it for a few weeks though as I wanna completely play Doom Eternal and RE3 first. I'm assuming Nioh 2 likely has 100+ hours of content like the original did and I prefer to focus on one game at a time and Nioh 2 is gonna be my main game once all the shorter games complete.

I have been playing through the first one. Currently stuck in the Warrior from the west or something like that. Basically the duel in the grassy area where you cant leave and he jacks your shite up. No clue how to get past it.

There are a few tricks depending on your current build. You can use the hand cannon to give him a headshot at the beginning and he should fall down, exposing himself to a final blow (good way to take a chunk of damage off him).

You can also use the rock on the left to gain some distance between you and him.

Sorry I can't provide more guidance, but without knowing your current build/gear, it's tough to give some pointers. You can also skip that mission and come back to it once you have better gear.

One YouTuber with a complete walkthrough of Nioh and all the DLCs is a dude called All The Shinies. His videos really helped when I was stuck or couldn't find a kodama. Here's his video of the mission Invitation from the Warrior of the West: LINK

I'm curious how long they'll wait to release the DLCs since there was a TON of content tied to those in the original.

It's not day 1 for me, but I do want to play it. I really liked the first one.

hand canon or rifle to the head. You can then cheese him over by the rock. hit and run round the rock. Rinse repeat. Might take a few tries to get the hang of running around the rock and avoiding his attacks. Going to be real hard to beat him without using the rock at the point he becomes available.

I used the rock to dodge that guardian spirit thing he’d do. When he does his sprint thing, dodge into it and you’ll end up behind him. Also used a spear and heavy attack, 3 or 4 of those and it breaks his guard

Knocked out the first 2 missions last night. Lots of good changes. I’m a big fan of the burst counters, adds a nice wrinkle to the combat.

If you a real one, you’ll use the Tonfa. So much fun

I'm still on the second main mission. Been grinding to get ninjitsu points so I could max my shuriken and kunai. Need to grind some more to get omnyo skill points.

I'm clearly running a ninja build with kusa. After about 450 hours in Nioh 1, I've actually never tried tonfas!

I maxed Tonfa proficiency yesterday, working on dual swords now. Will probably do Kusa that. Tonfa is so fun because of the way you can abuse enemy Ki. I have been able to stunlock every human boss and win in 40-60sec

Im halfway through the 4th region right now. Love it for the most part, but some serious issues rear their ugly heads later on. Every boss has been amazing except for one, which was absolutely awful.

Nice! Glad to hear you're enjoying it so far.

Did you see a new patch is going to be available later today? It nerfs Gakis but it makes it easier to gain proficiency on new weapons when you already have high proficiency in another (e.g. if you're at like 500,000 in Kusa, it makes it easier to get up to 500,000 quickly in dual swords). Here are the patch notes:

Oh thank god. Gakis are one of the issues

There are encounters in later missions that put you against powerful yokai(s) with endlessly respawning pairs of Gaki. It feels so cheap and lazy, just a horrible way to add difficulty

Pumped for the proficiency deal too. I was seriously thinking about not platinuming this one because of that grind. Hopefully it speeds it up quite a bit

finished NG and working through NG+ right now. Last act of the story was really good.

The one bullshite boss that gave me trouble apparently got a big nerf today, thank goodness. he was horrible

I'm really enjoying this story so far... debating what to do when I finish NG, if I'll go into NG+ or if I'll start a new character build based on different weapons (current build is dual swords + axe)

NG+ is really easy so far, I've been smashing pretty much everything and everyone in my way

What build are you using?

I have still had a difficult time getting into Nioh 2 and find myself going back to Nioh 1 to do co-op. I feel like the Ninjitsu and Omnyo capacities are too low (or jitsu costs are too high), and I miss some things like Shadowround Talisman to ensure I keep enough shurikens/kunais.

I'm currently on The Mysterious One Night Castle and have PTSD from the Beta, haha.

Don't really have one right now tbh. I change weapon types every mission or two to keep it fresh, and most of my stat points are in Constitution, Heart, or Courage. I have enough jitsu and onmyo for some bombs and talismans that I constantly use. I'll list all my stats when I get home

I don't think I could go back to Nioh 1 after this. Burst counters are way too fun. I know you loved Nioh 1, but I think the 3rd act of this game really sets it apart. Some really well-designed and interesting levels

hate that mission, just dont think it's very fun. Im at it on NG+ and I'm dreading replaying it. The ferret boss in the beta kicked my frickin arse but he is way easier in the retail release fwiw. dont sweat it
