Ill just say persona 3 reload adds a feature that wasnt in the original or any other called rewind. Basically at any point you can open a save file and go back up to 2 days in time back to the last point in that range you had free roam. It really helps if you are worried about making bad decisions about how to spend your time or if you enter Tartras ill prepared. It is a great game with an entire expansion of extra content to buy as well.
It is also way more "adult" than metaphor with how it executes well...just about everything. It is iconic that the characters summon the personas by putting a gun to their head and pulling the trigger. That should say enough lol
It also has the fastest start of any persona game. I love p5 royal but that game doesnt even really begin until like 6 hours in

I beat 9 for the first time back in 2018 when I was still single living in my 1 bedroom apt. It was just a great experience. Grinded that damn chocobo treasure hunt game forever before realizing I had picked up what I needed already and hadn’t realized it. Also, Ozma is the only super boss I’ve ever beaten in any of the FFs. Wasn’t terribly hard, but I was pretty over leveled by the end. That was my only complaint that the end game was such a joke by time I finally got to it. Think I just attacked my way through the final bosses. I remember 9 year old me getting stuck against the earth guardian you fight with Zidane and Quina and thinking it was the hardest game ever

Lots of smoke this week about the FF9 remake. It would not be surprising if it is announced at the switch 2 event.

FF Tactics A2 on the DS kept me occupied on many a work trip.
A proper HD remake for the Switch 2 would be unreal.

I enjoyed A2 more, but to say it's better than OG FFT is only because it's standing on the shoulders of a giant.
If they came up with a War of the Lions port for the Switch, I'd play nothing but that for a month.

There’s a lot of stuff flying around twitter about FF9. A lot of people seem to think this will be debuted for the first time tomorrow at the switch 2 show that’s an hour long.
ETA; apologies mystery didn’t see you commented something similar. It would be cool to see this tomorrow. The new figurines SQE is advertising online are all new character models never seen before for Zidane and Garnett. Something is definitely coming

I liked tactics a lot. I really enjoyed South Park’s tribute to it with “The Fractured, But Whole”. I don’t think that game needs a remake. It’s basically perfect for what it is. Unless you’re going to turn Tactics into a simplified BG3, I don’t see how modernization could improve its combat system or mechanics unlike 7 Remake’s MASSIVE improvement to the original 7’s ETB system.

It definitely doesn’t need a full on remake. Maybe just some QoL improvements, but most of all availability on current systems

Fact. I think the job system is one of the better skill and ability advancement systems ever created.
Logic dictated the need for advancement at lower levels to achieve great ability and strategic input.
Also, as usual with FF, the stories in those two titles were fantastic.

Switch 2 presentation starts at 9 am est so about an hour 20 min.
Lots and lots of people are saying itll be there, and its been confirmed a 3rd party studio will be making a major announcement for something that hasnt been seen. Could be SQE for sure. We will see soon bois. There is also speculations that big third party announcement could actually be Atlas with person 6 and not SQE

I know I’m in the minority but 9 is one of my least favorite. I find it incredibly slow and boring. I think the only character worth a damn is vivi. I would have never beat this game if they didn’t add the ability later to speed up the combat.
With that said….id be down to try a remake.

I played Legend of Dragoon multiple times during the same console generation and just now getting to such a classic, I can now see the similarities in art style.
Both must've really pushed the PS1 hardware to its limits.
