Any word? Why doesn’t EA just use the players drafted for that previous year and make other players non specific but with about same rating as that team going into the season?

People want this game so bad. All they would have to do is make a generic game in general and people will do all the editing for them.

Yep.

Literally just make the game without any of the licensing elements and let the gaming community do the rest.

And allow mods.

But its EA so you'll probably have to buy random mod loot boxes. And if you want to chose a mod then you'll have to pay three times the price.

So instead of the LSU Tigers, you have the South Louisiana University Bengals?

The schools can sell the rights to use their name and the stadiums for the game. They could even pay the coaches to use their likeness. It’s the students that we can’t use their likeness. So just randomize the rosters.

This.

EA (and any of the major publishers, really) won't put out a game these days if it doesnt include..uh.."surprise mechanics." See Madden and especially FIFA, which made them millions last year.

Jedi Fallen Order was a pure story-based, single player game and EA was shocked that it actually sold well. They are beyond help at this point.

Negative. The NCAA and EA would have to contact every single student athlete and have a unanimous “Yes” for their likeness. So until the NCAA forms a player union like the NFLPA then you won’t see any college football game. But don’t sleep on Maximum Football. Yes the 2019 version was pretty poo but that’s because they only had about 4-5 developers.

They just signed a partnership with Unity and I believe another company to upgrade the game engine. They’re using Unity to create all new animations and physics for maximum football 2020. Plus they listen to the community religiously when it comes to development. I’m not saying it’ll be as good as the previous NCAA football installments but it’ll definitely be vastly improved from their previous editions. I’d say gameplay wise Maximum Football was on par with NCAA 06 on the original Xbox and PS2.

You realize EA sports had 10 college teams in Madden 20 right? And the college playoff. I think a new NCAA game is ALOT CLOSER than you really think

They got licensing from those schools. But that’s only dealing with a handful of people as opposed to 55+ student athletes from 130 different schools just for football. That’s why I said they’ll need to form an NCAAPA similar to the NFLPA. If they get some form of a union then yeah that’ll be a huge step towards a new college football game. But until then, it’s unlikely. But with that said, I’d be 100% okay with a CFB with the universities and just made up players that in no way shape or form resemble the actual players or even their ratings. Let the community do the rest. Idk the legalities of it but they wouldn’t be profiting from the player’s likeness... so it should technically be legal. Kind of like the CFBM20 mod for Madden 20. They don’t accept donations or any form of payment so Madden hasn’t shut them down yet.

They have 40 college teams with all the uniforms and players. But they’re not profiting off of it so it’s legal I suppose. It’s a great mod but you can only do exhibitions because of the limits Madden has for modding. There’s no dynasty or anything sadly. But it scratches the itch of having an updated college football game

At this point, they can just take my stimulus check if they'll get a solid NCAA game out there.

I haven't touched my Xbox since my daughter was born 4 years ago. Only game I played post NCAA was a 32 team Madden League. Would be right back in it if NCAA football came out.

Madden 20 was a small test. They’re going to figure out a way to license the schools and then randomize the players. They don’t need the players permission if they can prove it’s random and not an accurate representation of them. You’re over thinking all of this.

How long before operation sports is sued if that's the case?

Can’t sue if they’re not profiting off of the player’s likeness. Now if they ask for donations or make you pay for the rosters then you’ll run into legal troubles
