I guess I'm okay with 144hz, 1440p. Looking at 24 or 27 inches.

The Predator deal has the 2k, 27" version almost the same price as the 1080p, 24" version.
Nice deal. Damn.

Would you consider upgrading to Windows 10 Pro x64?
I have some suggestions then..

What’s the advantage to 10 pro for gaming?

I get it. I copy/pasted my specs from my Steam custom info box.

I’m looking at getting a gaming PC, and finding the right monitor seems to be the hardest decision. Anyone have the Samsung LC49RG90SSNXZA? It seems like it would be the perfect choice.

G sync is utterly worthless. So dont let that br a factor.
144hz +
I went 1080p because I like competitive fps, and you dumb most settings down anyway.
Picked up the acer 240hz 1080p, love it.

You're not alone. I've always been this way too, until now. I'm in the market for the fastest 1440 144+hz monitor.

I just kind of wish it didn't have red at the base.. definitely not a deciding factor but pretty much all of my setup has blue if anything. Blue padding on headphones, mechanical keyboard backlight is blue, my GPU is lit up blue and so is the mobo. Ah well.

Ok I was looking at this on Amazon as it's $400 right now.. and I get 5% cash back on Amazon with my Discover card so it basically almost covers all the tax. Reading the bad reviews worry me, but I know every monitor will have bad reviews from some people... stuff about dead pixels, horrible Acer customer support, vertical screen tearing, and the gsync crapping out eventually.
Currently my 60Hz 1080p monitor is an Acer and I've had it since I started PC gaming in April 2014. I love it...
But in doing my reading I think I want an IPS monitor, 1440p, 144hz, 27 inches.
Looking into this:
