Anyone have an idea of how much temps can go up from 1080p/60Hz to 1440p/144Hz?

What do you mean? Will the room temperature go up because the heat from the monitor?

Won't the GPU technically be struggling more at a higher resolution? Or not maybe I'm retarded.

Well on Ultra, Overwatch causes my GPU to run at 72/73 C... that's 1080p 60Hz of course. Overwatch is not that demanding of a game either. Honestly I should be on Low settings anyway since it's a competitive game and being on Ultra is detrimental, but I'm so used to it now I probably couldn't lower it.

Shroud was on LTT's channel running tests with CS:GO and 60hz/144hz/240hz monitors. Here are the results:

I skipped to the end to get the summary. It's a 30 minute video so you can watch how the tests were conducted if you want.

I truly do think I will get better at CSGO with this new monitor.

You will. Going at least 120 is a super big difference. I went from 60 straight to 240 lol.

Enjoying it so far... did have to change my Rainbow Six Siege settings from basically ultra everything to high because the FPS was rough.
I also changed the FOV in the game from 60 (lowest) to 85 (90 is highest). Want to get used to 85 first then max it out - it's a big change...
Overwatch is amazing. Haven't launched RDR2 yet. Still worried about my i5 and even being able to pull 60 FPS on 1440p. I'm sure I probably can with medium settings... Going to see how CoD MW goes tonight..

I've been on 144hz for over 6 years now, and as you know now, it's a huge step up. I've always been a competitive settings guys where frames matter more than graphics. I'm still on 1080p, because I can't make up my mind what 1440/144 monitor I want, but I actually had to crank my graphics the other day because I was only using 70% GPU in PUBG, not CPU bottlenecked either because it was at 30%. Its probably windows scheduling or weird core utilization where one at a time will be maxed out.
I've watched the LTT video, but it only confirmed what I could tell for a while. More frames equals being more consistent.
