As so often is the case in these types of a cases the truth is probably some where in the middle. Maybe Joe got drunk and started acting creepy or maybe he is a total douche IRL but she acts like she was being held hostage. And this sentence "Joe then grabs my purse and phone and hands it to someone where I can’t see and eventually I’m unable to find for several hours." that makes no sense. If you are already creeped out at that point any sane individual would be like... look motherfricker, where is my purse and my phone.
