The blood starved beast is sort of like the first of two litmus test that occur almost within minutes of the other. Vicar Amelia, the other boss, is essentially a DPS check. Blood starved beast is more a check in your ability to manage a boss that has multiple things going on. Cure poison, are you finally figuring out parry timings for visceral (although imo BSB has some of the tightest parry windows in the whole game) are you using a saw for more damage fire shards for more damage are you using the thing that makes beast chase it so you can breath are you using the room and pillars to your advantage. If you can beat the BSB you can beat any boss until the DLC at least. Again, my advice is get really good at parrying. But the blood starved beast is one of the few enemies or bosses where since so much is going on and you’re dealing with poison rally system will not always be the correct move so that’s your blood vials time to shine

If you ever play let me know and I’ll help you get your feet under you until they click moment happens and then the game is like a graceful dance. There’s still a very large community playing for a ps4 launch title

Will do man. Appreciate the info. Yeah, I definitely need to give the game more of a fair shot. I've done this with other Soulsborne games in the past (namely 3) and ended up liking them once I understood how to better play them. The learning curve with Sekiro was crazy, but by the end of the game it was easily my favorite From Software game by a longshot.

No problem add my PSN TallPenguin88. A bit more advice when you’re rolling your character don’t get caught up in arcane or bloodtinge builds until you know what your real doing. Don’t get me wrong my favorite character of mine is a maxed bloodtinge with the chikagi and Evelyn and it destroys but it doesn’t pay off until a soft cap of like 35 and pushing 50 for big numbers. I always found a good starter way to go was vitality and dexterity, you don’t need as much stamina as you think trust me, and then eventually using the blades of mercy as your main weapon which you can get multiple ways but if you want it in the first 25 minutes just kill the crow. It’s a unique little weapon that serves as dual blade daggers

I love the Witcher 3 so much it’s such an amazing game, but with so many borderline masterpiece titles in the ps4 library it’s just hard to compete since it came out in 2015 and was super ambitious for that time.
Never liked fall out of god of war though two things everyone else does

Left out God of War and Horizon Zero Dawn. Bad list.

You know how I know you didn’t read the OP? I specifically mention god of war as being a game universally praised I don’t like.
As for horizon, while it’s a good game, it’s still a genetic bland open world Ubisoft huge map littered with check list everywhere of pointless fetch quests or camp clears. No player agency at all even though they try to pretend they’re the Witcher. It’s jsut the best of those types of games

The PS4 really was a great system with a diverse library of excellent games, wasn’t it?

My favorite probably FF7R. As a kid I loved the original so much so I was worried coming into it. I ended up happy with the product we got in the remake. I fell out of love with JRPGs after playing KotOR back in the day so I was happy with FF7R going more of the action RPG route than traditional JRPG combat. I also enjoyed the story and potential changes to it.
As for Bloodbourne, I get why people like it but I am a bigger fan of the souls games. I know it's not a PS4 title but Demon's Souls will always be my favorite of the series. If I can ever score a PS5 at MSRP, the remaster will be the first thing that I play.

Bloodbourne and Souls are two games that are essentially nothing like each other. They share a fragmented story pieced together by in game clues and rare npcs, and they share a somewhat similar system of character building. I am not going to pretend to be able to prognosticate on which one the overall fandom prefers, bloodbournes fast pace in your face style vs the Souls (generally speaking I know you can play Souls in a similar vein but almost no one does) more slow methodical risk avoidance game style. Dark Souls also leans wayyyyy heavier into magic and such which barely exists in Bloodbourne
