FWIW, I wouldn't shoot you if you showed up at my house. Mostly out of pity but still...

Tencent now has exclusive rights to all the major Ubisoft IPs, they own 25%.

I didn't realize Assassin's Creed was selling so well that the company had to sell the IP

Ubisoft is spinning off Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, and Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six into a subsidiary backed by Tencent, according to an announcement on Thursday. The Chinese gaming giant will invest €1.16 billion (~$1.3 billion) for a 25 percent stake in the carveout, which will have a total value of about €4 billion (~$4.3 billion).

It looks like UBI’s using a similar scheme Corsair took with Fanatec last year when the owner didn’t want to cede control, but needed funding.

In 12-18 months you can expect for UBI to turn off the lights, while Tencent walks away with the IP free and clear of creditors. It will be interesting to see how much of the new stake in the carve out will be reserved for the Guillemots.

Game YouTuber Luke Stephens called this shite

He said if they are talking about selling, no amount of sales from Shadows was going to save them. Just too late

He said one hit doesn't negate 5-10 years of mismanagement

Yeah that's the best part of this all, Ubisoft keeps everything and just gets a nice investment of pure cash to keep on making them.

Shadows has done so well Tencent said here take our money!

I doubt they feel the same way. The European countries take a different approach to bankruptcy and layoffs.

Ubi isn’t carrying 20,000 employees because it’s a model business practice.

Triggered?

Explain, please.

Is it because I said Ubisoft is mismanaged?

That's triggered?
