Is anyone looking forward to The Show 23?

We’re only a few days out and everyone seems to still be pissed about Jazz Chisholm being on the cover more than they are excited about the release. Sony has done a good job of really fricking up one of their best titles.

Not that I’m aware of. I’m hoping they fix RTTS and online rated matchups, but I doubt they touch either. Diamond Dynasty is the Madden UT equivalent and it’s ruined the rest of the game like UT did to Madden.

I played this game every year…would always play a franchise mode with the Braves and play every game of at least one season before simming. Played nothing but Diamond Dynasty for the first time ever in 2021. Enjoyed it but got burnt out. Bought 2022 and maybe played it for 3 hours total. For the first time since the ps2 days I likely won’t be getting an MLB game.

yeah. last year was the earliest i've ever given up on Diamond Dynasty. I feel like they want you to play 30 hours a week to keep up with the Joneses squads by releasing all those 99s.
I'll probably buy it but i'm not excited.
oh and it has nothing all to do with who is on the cover... do people actually buy games based off of that?
last year it really turned me off they hyped up coop diamond dynasty mode and it was a mess and they never fixed it. the whole year went by without a single competitive coop tourney (or even a ranked matchmaking system at all) which they had advertised as a feature pre-release

I just wish they didn't force online play. I either get stomped by someone much better than me, or on the off chance I get a good match and come out ahead get the sore lower treatment and they try to drag the game out a few hours. I've got no desire to play ranked matches but some of the cards I want that's the only way to get them. Screw em.

i'd be down to play a league of regular arse guys. but we wouldn't gain any cards so its worthless

I’ve been thinking about it, I have been skipping a few years in between before I upgrade ever since they just never fixed online seasons and we could never get a good TD one going.
At times they put it as the ps plus game. I think I got 2019 that way when I hadn’t gotten it since 16.

Might get it. There was virtually no difference in 21 and 22. Only reason I want this years is because the Rangers actually have a competitive roster for the first time 8 years

They really screwed up last year with the timed featured programs. It basically made the game a chore and it ended up being stale by July/August. If you didn't have hours upon hours to grind it was basically pointless. They also did a terrible job of releasing new content late in the game cycle.
I like 23 so far. The biggest gameplay changes are mainly on defense and are an improvement for anyone who l likes online competitive play.
