I bought it for my 8 year old. He will enjoy creating a character that I have to grind through just to get into The Show, only for him to demand a trade immediately to his current Little League team (Reds).

Looking forward to it!

It's on GamePass so I'll do a RTTS with baserunning and defense simulated and just try to hit as many bombs as a I can. As soon as I get bored with that I'll be done with it.

I still love the game, but I stopped buying it the first year it was on GamePass. Now I just play it on Game Pass. I used to love RTTS and dabbled in Diamond Dynasty, but my favorite mode for years has been challenge of the week. I even won it once back on PS3 when you had to pay for entries I got a signed Tulo jersey out of it.

So now I spend most of my time in that mode because it's an easy way to kill 20-30 minutes.

I bought it and played a game, solid. A few minor changes from 21 that are mostly aesthetic. The one substantive change I did notice is it is a lot easier to see that a pitch is going to be a ball when hitting. I used to have to swing at almost everything because it was extremely difficult to tell unless it was waaaay off.

If they aren't substantially updating games, why not release as a DLC with minor updates?

I played a little last night and it’s pretty much just 22 with the negro league added. Online rated is still garbage. The games are so obviously predetermined at times it drives me crazy.

Nope. It’s basically turned into Madden with the majority of content and sources being put into Diamond Dynasty/Ultimate Team. Road to the Show used to be fun but after they stopped online franchise and stopped caring about franchise and regular online ranked as a whole…I was out.

All props to people who love those, but because so many of sports gaming streaming content is geared towards those markets, the studios will continue to funnel all their time and attention into that and why shouldn’t they? These idiots spend thousands of dollars on packs to open every single year which just encourages others to do it too.

Dude you should email them. There’s no way you should ever lose a game

I don’t have a problem losing, but when you do exactly what they ask you to do as far as swing timing and contact goes, you shouldn’t be penalized with fricking groundouts and fly outs. Remove the entire feedback mechanism if it’s just completely random.

I tried it last night and sucked as well. Went back to the timing and have had better success.

I've been working through the WBC challenges and getting some of those players. Diamond Dynasty team is sitting at an 86 OVR. I need to get a 2B next as that is my weak spot.

Some of the challenges are truly a grind and seem impossible for a beginner (like myself). There are two in the First Round that I have tried maybe 20 times each and could not succeed (Hit a HR on one AB, and Strike out the side).

I am enjoying it though.

I spent probably half an hour hitting doubles into the gap last night trying to beat this challenge.

Exaclty, you are shelling out $75 for a roster update.

Now obviously this game is coming with some other updates and the addition of the negro league. And so far its getting good reviews.

It was pissing me off that I couldn’t use a DH in NL ballparks in 21

friends convinced me to buy it to play the ranked coop mode.

so far i have to say the game seems to be better this year. people will always complain about the hitting perfect perfect outs but perfect perfect just means you timed it perfectly and got it in the small circle. not that you hit the ball with the perfect launch angle.

Explain pitches being no where near where you placed them after perfect timing

are you using pinpoint?

there is a grey circle around the ball which shows the range of where it could end up with perfect timing that is bigger/smaller based on your pitchers control rating of that pitch as well. curveballs can end up pretty far away from where you spot them even with perfect timing, moreso if you aren't using pinpoint.

fastballs the range is normally smaller

The dude he’s explaining it to thinks the game is rigged against him yet he doesn’t understand how the mechanics work

He also doesn't seem to understand how the randomness of baseball works. I guess he's never seen very very hard hit balls result in outs.
