Thanks for the heads up.

The HP universe doesn't fascinate me nearly enough anymore to ever actually get this, but have been curious. Free works.

It's not a great game, but it's genuinely a fun game. Just don't burn yourself out trying to 100% all the Merlin trial bullshite.

You do need to do enough to get some extra inventory although with fast travel you really only need one or two upgrades.

I just finished another play through and I have the same opinion I always have. The combat is fun. There are too many collectibles and the last area that opens up was too big.

This is probably my last play through so I forced myself to do every quest and every collectible. Find everything. There was one really dumb field page on a hill overlooking Quidditch field. That was dumb and mean to place it there.

As a potter fan it was a 7 but it starts out a 9. For non fans, it is probably a 6 that starts out a 7 or 8 but becomes way too long and the score drops.

For free it is a great game. lol. Oh for folks who hate woke, everyone is a minority or gay and they have a trans character but I never felt anything was forced. If a game is going to be super diverse without ramming it down our throats, I think they did a fine job here. Funny that the Rowling haters tried to kill the most woke AAA game ever made with a trans NPC.

They did such a good job of capturing the universe but the story just fell flat.

But for the first 10 or 20 hours it was a really great experience and i still go back and play it every now and then.

They delivered on the atmosphere

Already own it on Steam. Man, this always happens during Epic giveaways to me.

The amount of time I spent exploring Hogwarts without doing any missions at first was insane . Game is a blast. Combat isn't overly complicated and fun to use, the combo building is well done and adds some nice variety. Story is fine but nothing earth shattering. I still have a blast hopping on and just flying around and getting into random skirmishes when i'm bored.

Big. Always wanted to play this on pc but didn’t want to buy it again since I already had it on PS.

Epic always drops decent games around Christmas/New Years so I’d recommend keeping an eye out on them for the next few weeks.

I started this on the Switch last year, but I just couldn't get into it.

True but not the reason people hate Epic. The Epic exclusives are why they take so much hate.

Same people will buy exclusive PS games while shrieking over Epic exclusives.

Yawn.

The launcher does suck and while throwing money at free games and exclusives, it amazes me how little they have changed the shitty store and game achievements in almost a decade. That isn't going to get me to stop using them for free games. I have 3 pages of top tier free games although just like the Steam Summer Sail, the Christmas offering from Epic isn't as good as it was in the past.

I would say they are related. People wouldn't care about the exclusivity deals if Epic didn't suck arse. Epic sucks arse, so people get pissed about the exclusivity deals. Giving out free games to be used on their shitty launcher just isn't enough to tip the scales.

Steam has a borderline monopoly position on PC gaming, but they still treat the users/customers properly and with respect and make genuine good products.

If Epic suddenly was in Steam’s position, does anyone think for a second they would still give out all these free games … if Epic had Steam’s market share the PC gaming ecosystem would be so fricked.

The weird thing to me was it's a game set in a school where you play as a student, but you spend zero time in class.

You don't hear about Epic Game Store exclusives anymore. Do those still happen? I was under the impression that the publishers all came crawling back to Steam because no one gives a shite about the Epic Games launcher.

They happen less frequently but they were never frequent.

I think Metro Exodus is the one that soured most of them on Epic forever.

I have 3 pages of solid free games and I don't care about achievements. One more launcher when I already had 5 or 6 was never a problem for me.

And at one time, people hated Steam even more than they now hate Epic. The first several years of Steam were bumpy.

I started playing it the other night. I know very little about Harry Potter, but I'm enjoying it. It's not too heavy or intense. Kind of the perfect chill game for me.

Not zero. You have classroom sessions with all of the teachers in order to get some spells. But yes, most of your time is self teaching with the book you are supposed to fill.
